Our Verdict
The big downside with this deal is that you can’t just use a spam email address to get the coupon since you have to give your mobile number. I tried using a Google Voice number and it didn’t work. They do mention that they’ll send you future promotional materials (read: spam) so you’ll have to unsubscribe afterward by texting STOP.
I also don’t actually know if you can get a pair of free socks with this; would depend on how much socks cost. But it terms say it can be used on accessories and hopefully there’ll be some socks in that range.

Clicked on “thislink” above and the text message I received also said the coupon expired. I know the store coupon expires today on the 25th, so I don’t see why the mobile coupon shouldn’t do the same. The whole thing is perplexing, because you state that the offier is Valid through May 31, 2015.
Tried to register for it today, but I received a reply that the coupon is no longer available.
Oh well –
Just did it and got a text saying the offer had expired. I called customer service and they said they were having computer problems and that I would probably get the coupon Tuesday. She said there is a $10 off $25 code “Stars” available online and in store.
This is the best one, but take a look at these other coupons available. http://join.jcpalerts.com/i/1 (linked above) $10 off $10+; http://join.jcpalerts.com/i/2 $10 off $25+; http://join.jcpalerts.com/i/3 is free shipping off $25+; http://join.jcpalerts.com/i/4 20% off apparel, shoes, accessories, etc.
I must say, JCP doesn’t really have the most secure server for this promo… mess around and see for yourself.
Thanks for the links.
I was able to use a google voice number.
Happy to hear. Not sure why it didn’t work for me.
