$10 Off $10 on Amazon with Discover Card [First Time Points-Users, YMMV]

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Spend at least 1¢ using Discover Pay-With-Points on Amazon and receive a $10 discount off your purchase. Use promo code: SWP07DFS10.

This offer is showing up as a banner for many. It only works for first-time Discover Pay-With-Points users. The code won’t work for the purchase of an Amazon gift card, but it should work for any third-party gift card sold on Amazon.

The code will only work on items sold by Amazon themselves, not by third parties.

You pay 1¢ with your Discover Points and the rest of the charge will automatically go on your Discover card, I believe.

You need to enroll your card to pay with points in order to use this offer.

The Fine Print

  • Expires 7/31/15
  •  If the order in the shopping cart is less than $10, the promotional credit will equal the amount of the purchase minus the Discover Cashback Bonus selected.
  • Offer is not available to customers that have previously redeemed Discover Cashback Bonus at Amazon.com.
  • Offer only applies to eligible products sold by Amazon.com.

Our Verdict

These offers pop up now and then. I once purchased a $25 Whole Foods gift card and got the $10 discount by paying 1¢ with Discover points. I’ll try unenrolling and re-enrolling and see if I can get the deal again, but I’m not holding my breath.

Also note that Amazon is currently earning 5% back on Amazon purchases, which can even be doubled to 10% if you’re enrolled in the Double Cashback offer.

why on earth would you leave the slickdeal affiliate tags in the urls?

you do realize they pull in 100s of millions per year by exploiting user generated content, right? remove their tag & put your own in, if you must.

I can’t believe this offer actually worked for me just now. I don’t recall a single kind of these promotions ever working for me before on Amazon. The best part was that I just signed up for Amazon Prime before this so I didn’t need to reach $35 for free shipping.

Didn’t work for me either. Anyone else still getting this to work? I’m a first-time Discover Points user.

I must be doing something wrong. I linked accounts, put in .05 for point payment, put in promo link but it said came up as “The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.” I was trying to buy a $25 Forever21 card. perhaps gc don’t work anymore? or, more likely, I missed something!

For some reason I can’t even see the pay with Cashback Bonus option in the checkout process with my Discover it.
Does anyone know what may be the cause?

Thanks!
But unfortunately they aren’t enrolling people in the double cash back promo anymore. Or at least not existing customers. Or so I was told a few minutes ago. She said they stopped June 23rd.

Just used this deal. I got 9.95 off instead of 10 bucks. Not complaining!

I’m not a first time points user and I wasn’t targeted, but I was successful in using this. I simply started a chat session with an Amazon CSR and said the code didn’t work. After I placed the order, he applied the $10 off.

Why when I apply the code for whole foods gc it says
“The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.” And I am first-time Discover Pay-With-Points user. How can you know you are eligible for this promotion?
