$100 eBay e-Gift Card for $95 on eBay

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Purchase a $100 eBay e-gift card for just $95 from Paypal Digital Gifts on eBay. Limit 1.

The Fine Print

  • Limited quantity available (currently, there appears to be around 8000 available)
  • This page makes it sound like this deal will only be available today. Maybe it will be Friday as well.
  • May take up to 24-hours for gift card delivery.
  • There  might be a delay of up to 4-hours after the gift card is delivered until it’s active.

Our Verdict

A 5% discount on eBay gift cards is really nice. Unfortunately, it’s being sold by Paypal Digital Gifts who seems to have strict limits as to how many cards they’ll sell you overall. I’ve been doing some serious monitoring of these limits to try and break the algorithm – no luck yet. In the past, some mentioned having more luck with the purchase of eBay e-gift cards, in particular, by using the eBay app.

The positive news is that if Paypal does let you buy it, you should end up with 5x rewards by paying with INK. Also note that eBay e-gift cards have been earning cashback from the portal (last I know of), although it’s officially excluded in the portal terms.

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to get eBay $50 eBay cards at Hy-Vee (comes with a bonus $10 Hy-Vee gift card). I shop there anyway and it’s basically 20% off… I picked up a few today… there’s other grocery stores too… look here https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ebay-gift-card-deals-at-hyvee-stater-bros-more/

$5 doesn’t seem like much of an incentive to freeze that money up if you can a higher rate somewhere else.

Hey! I got a better method than simply buying these e-gift cards using a chase ink card through paypal. Instead, go to gyft.com and purchase an eBay e-gift card using your Chase Ink card and a portal. You’ll be able to earn the 5x from Chase Ink (Don’t know why it works, it just does). You also get 2% cashback with topcashback for example. Then Gyft.com also gives gyft points that are basically 2% points that you can redeem for more gift cards. Then use the ebay e-gift card to purchase gift cards/e-gift cards on eBay. In this case you’re basically getting a $100 ebay e-gift card for $91 if you count it as 9% back. Then buy the card from Paypal Digital using the e-gift card code. Even more savings! Here’s a post from my blog that basically covers the steps if you want to learn more @ http://www.financialbasis.com/tips-to-manufacture-spending-on-ebay-gyft/

It is technically against the terms and conditions of eBay gift cards to use them to buy eBay gift cards.
Now I’ve never heard of them enforcing this rule, but it is what it is.

Ah, well if it’s not good for buying gift cards, the method is still great for buying items to resell on eBay. As if you include portals and eBay Bucks on buying on eBay you also get 2% for Bucks and 1.1% from a portal. Ends up being 12.1% even though you don’t get the cashback all at one time. Thanks for the tip about the gift card thing by the way. Thanks for the tip about the gift card thing though :O!

Do you know if it’s possible to buy non-Ebay gift cards using gift codes?

Actually I guess better question would be how long does it typically take for eBay to recognize the e-gift card purchased through gyft? The website says 4 hours which can missing out on a deal if it actually takes that long.

Ah well it’s actually not recommended to buy gift cards according to Dan. Also he pointed out that you actually don’t get the 2% from gyft. So it’s just 7% from the Ink and portal. However, apparently you can use it to buy 3rd party according to Chuck

If you read either the T&C of Gyft or the portal payout for Gyft (I forget which) it says if you go through a portal you don’t get Gyft points. So you have to pick one.

Gyft blocks the Gyft points from if you come through a portal, they have been doing that for some time now.

Didn’t work for me. Got: “We’re sorry, but we can’t send your payment right now”. Had gotten this error in the past from them and figured I was banned. Ban was lifted after about a month and I purchased 7 GCs since (5 Staples and 2 Best Buy)
