The Offer
- Purchase $100 Phillips 66 gas gift card for only $90. Limit 3.
These gift cards can be used at Phillips, 76, and Conoco.
The Fine Print
- Limited quantity available (there appears to be around 10,000 available and I expect this deal to last for a few days at least)
Our Verdict
These gift cards can be used both at Phillips and at 76 gas stations. Interestingly, 76 gift cards resell for 92% of their value while the Phillips 66 cards only go for 86-88%. Hopefully, the cards will be generic and say both gas stations on the card. I’m not counting on that, however, and we’re assuming for now that we’ll have to either use it or resell it for 86-88%.
If you buy the max 3 cards for $270, and resell them for $88 x 3, you’ll be taking a loss of $2 on each card, or $6 total.
- Assuming you have an offer just today 6/24 and tomorrow 6/25 (ends soon!) to get 8% back in eBay Bucks, then you can get $21.60 back in Bucks. After accounting for the $6 loss from the resale, you’ll end up with a $15.60 profit.
- You’ll also get around $3 back from the portal.
- You’ll also get 270 credit card points, which we’ll evaluate at a minimum of $5.40. (SVM on eBay does not code at 5x points with INK.)
- Total: $24
- Deduct $2 for shipping to the exchange
- Final total: $22
Note that if you end up reselling at 86% or 87%, the math will be worse. And there’s also a chance of devaluation which makes this deal a risk. I’m still harboring a hope that we’ll be able to resell them for 92%, but it’s more likely not to happen.
After tomorrow, we probably won’t be having another bonus Bucks day for a while (until beginning of August), so this deal would only make sense for today or for actual use of the card (not resale).

Cardpool sent me an e-mail this morning and they bought my Phillips Gas cards at 92%. Yay!
Cardpool paid out at 92%!
That’s surprising but good for you. Did you receive portal cash back on it too? My 2 sales to them turned up as $0 payable with no explanation.
Not on the sales. I’ve never gotten cashback on gift card sales.
I got the cards in the mail today and it only has a picture of Phillips and 66 on it. I am selling to Junkcard for 88% Thanks!
But the gift card can be used at Phillips 66, conco and 76 stores .
Check if it registers as 76 at https://wbiprod.storedvalue.com/WBI/lookupservlet?language=en&brand_id=conoco (got from http://www.cardpool.com/sell-gift-cards).
Just because it registers there doesn’t mean they will accept it for the 92%. If you read my earlier post you will see the reason. I predict they either change the payout or reject the sale altogether.
You’re right. I put the pin in for cardpool and they accepted for $92 each. You saved me $12. Thanks
They might end up not paying you. I asked Save Ya a few days ago why it was a different rate and they said it’s because Philipps 66 is a much smaller brand and many customers wouldn’t know they can be used at all 3 stations. Of course Cardpool might not have as strict rules. Has anyone else sold these yet?
I’m mailing it in tomorrow. We’ll find out if they pay. I would have thought that if cardpool accepts the gift card number they would pay out, but maybe that was naive.
What option did you select @ cardpool that gave you $92? Did you select “76 Gas” as the option? I have 6 phillips 66 card that arrived in the mail today. Can you please let us know if cardpool is paying you $92 per card?
Correct. I used 76 gas. I will report back whether I get paid but it might take some time until I know.
Wasn’t the limit 3? How did you buy 6?
I have 2 ebay accounts. One for me and another in my wife’s name.
Oren, Do you have any update on whether cardpool is paying you @ 92%.
No updates yet.
I saw that Cardpool sells it for 86%. Wouldn’t the extra 4% through TCB make that the best deal? Of course Cardpool might not pay out which happened to me the one time I sold to them.
I decided to make the purchase. Are you guys going to wait to see what the card actually says on it to know what to sell it as? BTW, the Gyft site does say it could take up to 4 hours for Ebay’s system to recognize the gc so I didn’t take the risk and just put it on my credit card.
MrWho wrote that it takes 6-24 hours to receive the Ebay gc from Gyft. In the past my gc have always been available right away from Gyft. Does anyone know for sure who is right? I’m willing to do this deal without the Ebay gc but wouldn’t mind an extra 2% if the Ebay gc can be used right away.
It definitely works immediately sometimes. I can’t guarantee that it always does.
You should fix the graphic on the home page for this article. It says “Disocunted”, not “Discounted”. Unless that’s intentional.
Damn! Someone pointed this out before and I forgot about it. Fixing it right now!
FYI, on https://www.giftcardrescue.com the 92% deal is for “Phillips 66/Conoco/76 Gas”, which sounds like it should work for these cards.
Is that a new site? I’ve never heard of it before.
On their media page https://www.giftcardrescue.com/media they’ve got articles going back to 08, so no. Haven’t used them before, though; found a link from http://www.giftcardgranny.com/sell-a-gift-card/#76-gas
Nice!
They actually have Phillips separate as well for only 87%….
Chuck,
Thanks for pointing that out. The Ebay site only says Phillips so this will probably pay at most 87%. I predict it goes down at least a few % in the next week. I’m probably going to “walk away” from the deal.
Make sure to check under the “my ebay” section, I had a 10% coupon code in mine along with the 8X ebay bucks.
8x not valid for Gift cards. Ebay is learning and catching up:)! see below on T&C’s. I can only get 2%
*Qualifying purchase excludes all items in the following categories: Classifieds, Business & Industrial, Real Estate, eBay Gift Cards (within the Gift Cards & Coupons category), Bullion (within the Coins & Paper category), and eBay Motors.
Pls ignore this. I was stacking up multiple cards. Ebay is not consolidating the total and giving 8% back.
Phew! Yeah, it’s still working. Let’s hope it lasts!
You scared the crap out of me.. Lol
