The Offer
Lots of people on Slickdeals are reporting an offer for 1800flowers popping up in the offers section of their Paypal account (found under the “Wallet” tab).
- Spend $15 get $15 off when paying with Paypal.
There are a bunch of things which can be completely free using this offer. Here, here and here.
Personally, I didn’t get the $15 off $15, but I did get $15 off $40 (found in the “Shop” tab).
My guess is that most people will have one of these offers or something similar.
The Fine Print
- The $15 off $15 deal is being reported as starting 4/29/15 and going until 6/30/15, meaning that it didn’t start yet.
- The $15 off $40 that I saw in my account goes from now through May 15.
- Offer only valid on merchandise fees, not on shipping, taxes, etc, if there is any.
- Discount will be reflected in your Paypal account, not at the time of order (in other words: have faith).
Our Verdict
1800flowers is the type of retailer that we constantly see offers for. What’s especially interesting here is the fact that Mother’s Day is coming up (May 10) and the fact that we reported a few days ago on an Amex Offer of $15 off $50 at 1800flowers.
If you would purchase, say, a $55 order at 1800flowers and the total would be $65 after all fees, you’d get the $15 discount with Paypal which would bring your total $50. Put the charge on your registered Amex card and since the total being charged on the Amex is $50 it will trigger the Amex Offer. Total cost would be $30 for the $65 order.
[UPDATE: This is a bad mistake. Charges running through Paypal won’t trigger the Amex offer since it wasn’t processed directly on the 1800flowers site. Wrote this post too quickly!]
Note that using the Paypal offer probably means that you can’t go through a portal, if you went through a portal it may negate the Paypal discount or vice versa.
I doubt the Paypal offer would work on the purchase of a gift card.
I also meant to ask what would happen if you entered the “EARLYSHIP” code?
I received the $15 for $15. The terms say: must check-out w/ PayPal from the 1800Flowers site only. Would going through any airline portal negate this as well? Their not giving discounts, only miles.
This won’t be too bad of a promo when combined w/ the other PayPal promo of “spend $150 get $15 in April” in my PayPal acct. Others may have this as well, so this may only help out depending on how much you use it.
I just collect as much into my acct w/out touching it as much as possible for times like these (Mom’s Day,B-Day’s and anniv’s).

Nice!
Can you get a credit card bonus/deal when you checkout with PayPal?? Usually charges show up as “PayPal 1800Flowers” or something.
That’s right. I’m not sure why he’s deleting comments that point this out. But I have a data point of doing this and it didn’t code properly and he deleted my comment.
What are you talking about? We never delete comments. If you’ve never left a comment before it needs to be manually approved first and then all future comments are auto approved. We never censor unless you write homophobic or racial slurs.
Yeah, it was a mistake. Updated the post. Thanks for pointing out.
I tried what you recommended on your verdict and unfortunately it doesn’t work. American Express codes the transaction as paypal and therefore the Amex deal does not give a statement credit. So basically the $15 off of $40 only covers the shipping of this heavily overpriced flower shop. Oh well, at least you’ll make my mother happy!
Gosh, you right! That totally slipped my mind. So sorry! I’ll update the post.
