A free protein shake for joining a $100/month gym. Had to mail-in in writing to cancel. Shake sucked.

A T-shirt that said I HEART Citibank! Choice of black or white, I believe. True story.

Sadly back in college I legit applied for my first credit card for a 2-liter and T-shirt ourside the university bookstore. Back then it was more about novelty of having a credit card than rewards or cash back. Pretty sure Discover card was only cashback card game in town then.

So many questions…

Can I try the two-table trick and get two of them?

Is there another offer out there where the soda is actually cold?

When I was a youngster, free soda never seemed applying for a credit card. Someone won a Pepsi contest and the family got to shop at no cost for a half hour at a local grocery store. On command from a guy doing a play by play, someone from the winning family would begin putting six packs of bottled Pepsi in the cart. There was a mobile fountain trailer unit with a guy that kept filling paper cups. Then there was an opening of one of the first giant supermarket in the area, except this time, there was also free popcorn, free peanuts and free cotton candy. Finally, Kroger built a store near where I grew up. Pepsi was there pushing a new brand, Mountain Dew, with free Dew, corn cob pipes and metal clickers.

What happens if you put in wrong name/DOB/address or something so they fail to get the credit pull? Will they clawback the 2 liter?

Returning from a business trip on Delta, I applied for their card in return for an aviator bear plush toy. My incentive was to surprise my dog with a chew toy he could destroy. I think I put down that I made $1,000 per year just to make sure I wasn’t actually approved for the card.
