About Our Competitions

Why do you need my e-mail & name?

We need this information so we can alert the winners. Feel free to use a throw away e-mail address and name if you aren’t comfortable giving away that information. We also promise not to sell or spam your e-mail either (we may send you updates about future contests, but at this stage we won’t be doing this. If we do decide to do this, it’s easy to unsubscribe). If you do sign up for our newsletter (giving you three entries) we will send you e-mails from time to time. These e-mails are either our once a week recap posts that contain all of our posts from the previous week and our best posts summarized or a tip/trick/method/deal that is too sensitive for the main blog.

Why does gleam need authorization for my twitter/etc?

This is used to verify that you completed the action as listed. I understand some people aren’t comfortable with this and that’s fine, the problem is that it’s simply not manageable for me or Chuck to manually do competitions. If anybody has a viable alternative, I’d be happy to look into it.

I already follow you/subscribe to your newsletter, do I miss out!?

Of course not, we love our existing users just as much as any other user (if not more!). All you need to do is click the +1/+3 entry button and if you’re accounts are already linked the system will recognize it.

I want to advertise my business/website/company on Doctor of Credit, can I sponsor a competition?

Sure, get in touch with us. We are using the above competition as a case study to show the value that partnering with us can provide. We won’t charge you a single cent for sponsoring a competition, all we ask is that you provide a worthy prize for our readers.

Goodluck

Thanks again to Sift for agreeing to sponsor this competition, best of luck to our readers in winning a prize!

Pretty junk you get +3 entries iff you have an iOS device. I understand that they’re the sponsor of the giveaway, but it still doesn’t sit well with me :/

This app is full of wrong information. One example: Extended Warranty is two years for Citi cards but the app says one year.

Am extremely dubious about this app. When I said download the App it asked me to verify my payment information but, said nothing about wheat the ost of the app was. I do not click thru and verify payment information if I don’t know the amount of the payment. No information about free or cost in App Store. Believe this is a SCAM. Beware!!!!!!

Sift is not a scam, it is a fully developed iPhone app. I wish I had an iPhone to use it because it is the best one on the market. There are others though, like the Earny app or the online Paribus.co which tracks your Amazon purchases as well as purchases made using CCs that have price protection built-in to the card via the payment network or issuing bank.

And even if Sift did cost money, if it saves you even $10 on an item you bought using a CC with price protection, it pays for itself. The old adage of, “Sometimes you have to spend money to make money,” holds true.

Sift requires access to your email and Amazon accounts in order to work. This is a really high level of privilege. If anyone wants to do this, I would highly advise making a second email account just for shopping and nothing else.

The unroll.me and Uber controversy literally happened like two weeks ago http://www.businessinsider.com/people-are-freaked-out-that-unrollme-sold-email-data-to-uber-2017-4

So as long as I provide an expensive gift card, you’ll promote my product?

So, we need to give login info etc to the app? Do they have sufficient security to safe guards those info?

Dr of credit is much better than most of his competitors about screwing readers to make a buck, especially the guy at f-miler who wrote about his ass-kissing journey to Branson’s island. I hate him. Did you know he doesn’t take affiliate links?

I mean Dr doesn’t screw his readers unlike f-miler and others
