Our Verdict

This works out to be a discount of 30%, previously they offered $7.50 off $25 (discount of 30% as well, but higher denomination). This is limited to new users only, we are trying to get Swych to give our readers an exclusive discount so it might be worth waiting for that or another higher denomination deal than this.

The idea behind Swych is that you can give a gift card to somebody and if they don’t like it they can instantly ‘swych’ it to something else they do like.

If you use the code or link above we will receive a commission. We are hoping to have a DoC exclusive that doesn’t pay us, but gives you a bigger discount in the future.

The issue was mine not Swych’s. I had to select the proper home address during the Apple Pay transaction which I had failed to do initially.

Just tried to buy a $25 Lowe’s Card (changed it to $25 instead of $20 b/c of Jason’s issue above). As soon as I paid with Apple Pay, I got an Apple Pay confirmation that my credit card had been charged $19, but the Swych app displayed an “Error” processing the order and I don’t see a card anywhere in my account.

I’ve also sent an email to customer support. Hope that if it really didn’t process that the charge will only be “pending” and eventually drop off and I don’t have to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Just bought an AMC gift card $20 and received $6 discount.

However, it turns out that the balance of the e-gift card is 0. Already sent an email to support and see how soon they respond. This is no good while I’m first time user and they even have 0 balance gift card.

Their reply:
” We have looked at your account. You completed a transaction for $14 using your Amazon account to purchase the $20 AMC card. We have confirmed that a digital gift card with value of $20 was delivered to your Swych account at 7:26 AM PT. Once the card is issued to your account, only you or anyone you have given access to can get to use the funds on the card.

We will reach out to AMC Theaters and request that they trace the card – where it was used and through what device. In the meantime, feel free to reach out AMC Theaters directly as well to expedite the process. We strongly advice you to use touchID on your mobile phone to protect your Swych account and the cards you have purchased from Swych. Please safeguard gift cards the same way you would treat cash.

We will let you know when we have additional information from AMC.

Thank you for contacting Swych.

Swych Support Team”

So basically they’re telling me something I already know. Of course I received the e-gift card number otherwise I wouldn’t check it and tell them it is already 0 balance as soon as it reached my hand. And they claimed they contacted AMC to wait for the result from AMC’s end. I don’t know how long that will take. But I just lost confidence right away for my initial purchase. They don’t understand I can simply contact my credit card company to get this resolved/conditional refund even before their 2nd email to me.

I’ve been buying gift cards from more than one site and I’m proud of the tracking and tracing jobs I’ve been doing to my e and physical gift cards. Last time bought a longhorn e gift card from cardcash or ABC gift card with 0 balance too, get refunded. Had an issue with raise.com subway physical card being missed in mail (came only 3 out of 4) and also get refunded.

OK, it appears that AMC’s tracking website not showing the correct balance, I called 1.800.255.0311 and was advised by auto system that it is $20. So it’s an issue with AMC’s website rather than Swych. That also confirms that buying $20 and did get $6 discount.

In the title you wrote $6 off $20 but in the fine print you wrote “Only valid on gift card denominations of $25”. Which one is correct?
