[Sold Out] $75 Staples Gift Cards for $60, Limit 3 [Limited Available], $17 Moneymaker

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Paypal Digital on eBay is currently selling $75 Staples e-gift cards for $60. Limit 3.

The Fine Print

  • Limited quantity available. (There appears to be around 1600 remaining. That’s not a lot, so hurry.)

Our Verdict

This is a great deal for Staples purchases. It’s also great for resale, if you have means of reselling e-gift cards. (Saveya requires physical submission for Staples gift cards.)

You can sell it electronically to Cardcash for 81% of the face value, you’ll get $182.25 for the $225 of gift cards, a profit of $2.25. You’ll also get 3% back from eBay Bucks and the shopping portal (the 4% rate is gone from Ebates), for another ~$5.50. Plus you’ll  hopefully earn 5x with INK or 2% with a different credit card.

All told, you can profit ~$11.50 without INK or ~$17 with INK. Not too shabby for a completely electronic deal which is over and done in an hour or within 24 hours.

Or you can sell it to Cardpool for 77% or the value. With this approach you’ll end up at about break-even on the sale (after counting the portal and eBay Bucks), and you’ll net free INK points. Since it’s all done electronically and is pretty easy, it could be something to consider.

Using Raise is also something to consider.

Better check your spelling of “disCOUNTED” your headline … you may irritate some of the “ladies” 🙂

Anybody getting error while trying to pay with paypal? Very vague error: We can not process your payment right now…

Called Paypal hundreds of times and still would not let me buy anything from paypal_digital_gifts…

And 4% ebates has ended this morning, right? 1% left.

Yeah, I linked it last night. And one rep was able to make one payment go through ( I should have bought 3 cards together…). The others eventually just told me to wait (15mins, 1-2 hrs, 12 hrs, and now 24 hrs…) I’ll just let my PP calm down for a while I guess. Thanks!

I see credit card points being mentioned but how can ebay purchases be made with a credit card rather than Paypal? It only allows me to pay for this with my paypal balance. What am I not understanding?

You have to go into your paypal account first and enter your chase ink credit card in there. Then, when you go to buy the gift cards on ebay, when it asks you to sign into paypal, do so but then change the option for payment from your checking account to the chase ink card you just entered into paypal. Easy 🙂

Actually, the problem was that I had a balance in my paypal account. I had to transfer the balance to my bank account and then it let me use a credit card.

Ah right, good catch. I remember now from googling around with the same question you had that you have to not have a paypal balance to be able to use a CC w/ paypal.

Let me tell you how making money at your desk worked for me today.

Bought the GCs no issue.

First tried to sell at saveya.com. Then saveya.com asked me to mail the cards in! I called. They tell me: “you selected a mail in option.” No such choice! I tell them to cancel the order.

Then I try to sell at cardcash.com. But the website errors out. I call. Our whole website is down, they say. Call back Monday.

So much for making money at your desk.

After dealing with total ineptitude at cardcash and saveya, I sold the cards to CardPool. Took a small hit but Chase points are worth it. I guess…

We thought you’d like to know that we’ve processed your gift cards for transaction #XXX and mailed you a check for $173.25. The check should arrive within 3-7 business days.

Lost a little money, experienced a little hassle. But Cardpool is best in class as usual.

Going to wait before I dive into this pond again.

That’s odd, I wrote my comment here right after I placed the sell order on CardCash (whihc was six minutes before your comment), and I had zero issues. It’s current payment status is review.

Thanks Doc. I just put in the sell order to Cardcash. There’s something to be said for making money at your desk.

Thanks Doc, Just a heads up, giftcards.com is a very poorly programmed website. Expect errors when selling cards. Only way to clear your cart if you made any mistakes is to wipe your cookies. Also call to follow up as they often don’t get all the data the first time.

I can definitely attest to this. Trying to sell these cards right now, and the order submission says “loading” for 15-20 min and never goes through. I called their customer service number and they said that the website is currently undergoing maintenance.

They seems to be integrating the ABC gift card site and cardcash and the moment. When you go to abcgifts it directs you to the cardcash site

Have found the original ABC site to be very stable. Was able to sell the cards earlier today at classic.abcgiftcards.com. Can still get a front page for the site but its empty. Hope that they keep it going as it has never given me any major problems.

Hi, newbie here trying my hand at this reselling GC thing for the first time. What shopping portal would you recommend to get % back on reselling these cards to Cardpool?

Cardpool could be hit or miss and unfortunately for me is has been a “miss”. Last 2 transaction got 0 cashback from them through TCB.

Same as Mike, my last 2 Cardpool sales got $0 from TCB. And I’m not over the $1,000 limit. Something is screwed-up there, and there’s no way to appeal. IME, TCB is usually pretty good at researching and getting missing cashback. But for Cardpool, they don’t even allow you to file a claim.

There is a portal for purchases on cardcash (sunshine something) but not sales.
