Amazon Now Lets You Buy Individual Samples (& Get Amazon Credit Equal To Their Cost, Can Only Be Used On That Brand)

• Amazon have sold sample boxes for awhile now (you can view all the current options here). They are now allowing you to buy individual samples, when you buy a sample you’ll also receive an Amazon credit equal to the samples cost. The catch is that the Amazon credit can only be used on that brand. For example if I purchased the Vega Sport Protein Bar sample, I’d only be able to use the $2 credit I receive towards other Vega products.

The Fine Print

• Samples are only available to Prime customers. Prime customers can buy one of each sample.
• For every sample that you buy, you will receive an equal credit that can be used toward your next purchase of a full-size product from the brand you sampled.
• The credit will be automatically issued to your account as soon as your sample ships. You will receive an email confirming that the credit has been issued to your account.
• You will receive an email once the credit has been applied to account. The email will link to a page with full-size products from the brand you sampled. Add one of the products to your cart, and your credit will be automatically applied during checkout. Items must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com.
• Credits can be redeemed until December 31, 2017

Our Verdict

The selection of samples is pretty lackluster at the moment, I suspect Amazon will expand it depending on how the existing items sell through and what the re-order rate is like. I’d probably use this offer if there was a brand that I regularly bought from that was offering a new product/flavor. As it stands that isn’t the case and there isn’t really anything that I want to try so I’ll be giving this one a miss. Fingers crossed that Amazon expands this program to more products so it’s actually useful.
