I had a TGI gc from SVM get drained. I eventually got a replacement from Friday’s but it took a while as well as persistence.
Have to caution (and pass) on the TGIFridays gift card. Bought one on 12/16 ($40 for $50) from Amazon and it was drained on 1/2. Both Amazon and Fridays say to contact each other.
I had some other TGIFridays gift cards turned into physical gift cards in a restaurant (which works at least), but also has no scratch off or PIN based security. Anyone can take a picture of a physical gift card in a store and also guess other card numbers based on the simple sequential card number with check digit, and use it as an eGC.
Cardcash had some sales on ebay for 40% off TGIFridays GCs. I did have 2 of 5 GCs that had no value when I went to use them, and Cardcash refunded them within a few hours of me notifying them by email.
I notice that Dollar Tree gift cards also have no scratch off PIN and are therefore insecure.
