American Express: $25 for Adding an Authorized User to Amex Blue Cash Everyday

There is a new link you can try, thanks to Miles to Memories for sharing it.

The Offer

Direct link or this one (login required to see offer)

  • Get a bonus $25 when you add an authorized user to your Blue Cash Everyday card and spend $250 within 3-months

This is a targeted offer. Use the above link to login, and after selecting the BCE card it will show the bonus offer if you are targeted.

The Fine Print

  • $250 spend can be done on the new AU card or any other AU card, but not on the primary card
  • Bonus can take 8-12 weeks to post (usually it posts much faster)
  • Limit one  bonus per primary card (adding two AUs won’t get you two bonuses)

Our Verdict

We’ve seen this offer before, and a bunch more people are getting this offer now. Login to see if you are eligible. Might not be worth doing it since it’s only $25 and it’ll count toward your 5/24, but useful if you wanted to add an AU anyway.

There’s no fee for adding an AU, but keep in mind that you will have to give in the SSN (not required if you add AU by chat, at least instantly).

We’ve seen similar offers on other cards too:

Silly question..

But could you add yourself as an “Authorized User” to get this bonus? I don’t have anyone in my life right now who I want to add to this card. But wondering whether I could add myself. lol or no?

Yes it should technically work.

Referral link removed, please only post where we specifically state you can. Also the public bonus is much better.

By the way, I was also targeted for 5,000 MR pts for adding AU on my PRG for $500 spend as well.

Not sure this has been captured in the comments above, but when I use the ‘this one’ link, most of my Amex cards are listed. I randomly chose nub PRG and got the 5k MR points for $500 spend offer. I know this offer has been around for a while, just wanted to point it out so people check all of their cards

Opening an AU account will not count for 5/24 during the reconsideration process, although it did automatically count in the initial applying. This is what I got when applying for the CSR last month

Received this offer at the beginning of March, after having the card for a couple years. Put the AU in my name so as not to run up someone else’s 5/24. However, I found out later, that if you make an AU card in your name, it will count towards the 5 credit card limit Amex has. I didn’t know that before.

FYI. I logged in and I got both offers – $25 for BC AU and 500 MR for PRG AU. So, will be doing both.

Here’s a data point. I enroll in the PRG spend 500 and got 5k last November, the 5k posted 12/09/16 as PRG 5K MR Pts/$500 spend. When this same offer show up again in Feb 2017. Someone mention the it didn’t work. But when I call to enroll in the 10k pay over time. The rep mention I can get 5k for adding AU. I decide to say yes and give it a shot. Bought 500 gift card and 5k posted 04/06/17 as PRG 5k MR/Spnd $500/92 day. So you can in fact get it twice.

Anyone has problem getting the bonus? I did this offer but didn’t get the bonus.

when bonuses for offers don’t show up within a specific timeframe, I just open a chat with a rep and the bonus posts right after. I did this when I got the offer for first time log in to amex app and when I didn’t see the credit in 6 weeks, I opened chat and the rep added it instantly. I got this offer and am positive the bonus will posts, sooner or later.

How can they tell that the AU made the $250 in purchases? Isn’t it exactly the same account?

It’s even easier in Amex’s case since even personal AUs receive different card numbers. Usually, just the last two digits differ.

Amex AUs get a different 16 digit number as opposed to at least some (most of my) Visa/MC AUs, which retain the same 16 digit number.
