Update 3: Extended to June 30th, 2016 and open to new people.
Update 2: We’re reposting for the same reasons listed below.
We’re reposting this link as the offer has been extended and some people that weren’t targeted before now seem to be targeted. Remember if you’re not targeted then you can still get this same offer with higher minimum spend requirement of $10,000.
The Offer
For awhile it’s been possible to get 75,000 membership rewards (MR) points after $10,000 in spend on the American Express Business Gold rewards card. There is now an offer which only requires you to spend $5,000 to get the 75,000 MR points. There are two ways you might be able to get this offer:
- Click here and log into your account. Make sure that the offer is the same after you log in, not everybody is being targeted for this offer.
Update: If you log in and it says “our systems are down” then it means you’re not eligible for this offer and calling will not help. You can still get 75,000 points, but you’ll need to do $10,000 in spend instead of only $5,000. Find out how to get this other offer here.Â
The Fine Print
- Valid until
March 31st, 2015June 30th, 2015September 29th, 2015June 30th, 2016 - Annual fee of $175 is waived for the first year
- This is a business card, you’ll need a business to apply for it
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3x on airfares purchased directly through the airline
- 2x on purchases for advertising in select media, shipping, at gas stations, and made directly from select computer hardware, software, and cloud computing providers
- 1x on all other purchases
Our Verdict
This is obviously better than the other 75,000 point offer due to the lower spend requirement. You should be able to get this bonus either by calling or online. I already signed up for the other 75,000 point bonus, so I’ll be sitting this one out as you can only get American Express business bonuses once per twelve months. There is also an increased sign up bonus on the American Expresss SimplyCash bonus of $250 and the American Express Personal Premier Rewards Gold Card has a sign up bonus of 50,000 points after $1,000 in spend.
It would be possible to apply for all three of those cards and it should only result in one hard pull, although you need to have a business and be able to meet the combined minimum spend of $11,000 within three months.

Hat tip to Five Girls on Flyertalk via MileCards
If I buy VGC at grocery store, that should earn your MR? correct? The terms say, the prepaid card etc are excluded but when you purchase VGC at Grocery it won’t be tagged as giftcard. Can someone verify this?
What can you use the 75,000 miles for? Is it Delta airlines like the AMEX Gold card?
There is a lot of false information in this post. The 75,000 Membership Rewards points offer is a targeted offer that very few people receive. It is not an offer that is available to the general public.
A “direct link” to the offer will never work, since American Express offers are one-time use only. Be warned: these “direct link” offers are often phishing scams – someone looking to steal your login name/password and/or card information.
If you call American Express, they will only be able to honor this offer with an online offer code or direct mail RSVP code. Don’t waste their time or your own if you don’t have a code. Unless you have a code, this offer is not available to you.
It worked for me and I didn’t get the offer sent to me
Rather interesting Sarah that you’re soooo sure of yourself here. My wife followed one of these 75K offers about 16 months ago, via a link that I think we found about via others, and it worked just fine. yes you proclaim it will “never work.” and/or that it’s a pfishing sam….. Or you next going to proclaim that the esteemed writer of this post is a liar? do you work for amex, or an affiliate thereof?
Perhaps you should take a few moments to learn the fundamentals of grammar and/or proofread your writing before attempting to attack me. Your wife received an offer “about” 16 months ago (which would be before Amex revised their policies regarding welcome offers) via a link that you “think” you “found about via others”? Wow…that sounds credible.
This offer is different than regular targeted offers, lots of people have received it without being directly notified of the offer. Also it’s not a phishing scam, it’s on the regular americanexpress website.
I got this card early this year and made a airbnb reservation (about $1,000) for an October stay. The owner of the house, however, decided to cancel my reservation this month and the amount was credited back to my CC. What will happen to the bonus I received? I used the card to charge $5,080. Do I need to spend this refund in order to keep Amex happy?
Interesting data point for me, at least I think so…When I click the above link to see if I am eligible for the offer it states “system down” message if I am not currently logged into my AMEX account in another tab. I am eligible for the offer if I click the above link and already logged into AMEX.
Disregard my previous post…looks like it shows up either way now. Maybe a temporary glitch on my end.
I logged into my account and looks like I can applied. BUT I have this card before, and I cannot seem to find the language about lifetime bonus in the terms. Is it possible it doesn’t have that term or am I just not reading hard enough to find it?
I checked the link and seems I am targeted for the 75K after 5000 spend.
Now, what’s the best way to meet that spending for AMEX these days? I know I can’t use Buxx, which is the way I do it with Visa and MC. Maybe Visa cards from staples? I have serve card but not sure if it works these days for MS. Feel free to PM me if more appropriate. Thanks!
As stated in the offer terms, “Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.”
Therefore, purchases of re-loadable Visa cards would not help you to reach the spend threshold.
So what’s the official ruling for biz cards? I got targeted with a RSVP code for 75K for 5k spend Amex biz gold. Blog posts from Feb 2016 state that Amex ran the lifetime rule across the board (minus SPG), but I don’t see any of that language in my letter. I’ll post copies of my letter if you want.
If the offer doesn’t contain the language, you’re good to go.
Not true, William Charles. Dave, if you currently have or have ever had the card product, you are no longer eligible for ANY welcome offers on that same card product. Welcome offers are now only good once per card per lifetime.
No $100 airline credit with the biz card?
Are you sure about churnability? I’ve heard rumors that Amex might go back to churnable for business, but IDK if it’s confirmed. If no please fix.
