Our Verdict

This is the highest this bonus goes and has been offered twice already this year, it’s basically the standard increased offer these days. I suspect we will see referral links for this offer shortly, so consider waiting so that you can help out other readers. The other reason you might want to consider waiting is that it’s rumored that American Express will be trying to compete with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, so it’s possible they will launch a new card. This is important to know because you’re limited to two American Express credit cards within 90 days of each other.

The bonus on the Surpass card has also been increased to 100,000 points (also the new standard increased bonus). I’d recommend reading up on these things you should know about American Express cards before applying, it’s also a good idea to read through that post to see if your question is answered before asking in the comments.

I got this card in Oct 2016, and earned aprox 80,000 point bonus, which I held onto for awhile. Recently I redeemed the points for $150 in store gift cards. Just called up to cancel the card. Was handed off to someone in the high value card section. The guy I was then connected to rambled on semi-coherently, and talked like he had a mouth full of taffee. He was not foreign.

Additional info: When I applied, someone from AMEX called me “just to verify that you want the card.” She gushed about how thoroughly wonderful my profile was, and said that the credit line would be $20k “to start”. I called back after a month and had them lower it to $10k.

I have a similiar question, but I haven’t applied for the second card yet. In your case, I know that hilton charges for point transfers. You could possibly use the different accounts to book different nights.
In my case, does anyone know if my wife applies for the card with my hilton account number linked to it will we still get the sign-up bonus?

Thank!

Is it worth it? I may apply, but I don’t know how much you can do with 75,000 hilton points.

Is the 100k offer a different product. (https://www.doctorofcredit.com/american-express-hilton-surpass-100000-point-bonus-offer-returns-2/).They are both Amex Hilton Cards but with different names (Surpass and Express). Can anyone confirm? I have the Surpass 100k card and i’m thinking about applying for this one.

Thanks DOC. Just wanted to make sure I’ll get the bonus if and when I do apply.

Approximately how much is 75 000 Hilton points worth? In dollars? In nights at a Hilton?

If you PC to this card in the past, can you cancel the card and get a sign-up bonus in the future? I have never received the sign-up bonus for it nor directly applied for it.
