American Express JetBlue Card No Longer Available For New Sign Ups

We knew that American Express & JetBlue would be ending their partnership at the end of 2015 (Barclaycard will take over from American Express). But it looks like American Express has decided to stop applications for the credit card a little bit earlier than expected, this is the error you now see when you go to the official American Express JetBlue page:

jetblue

We still don’t know what will happen to existing American Express JetBlue cardholders, they could either be automatically converted to the new JetBlue card or have their card product changed to one of the other cards that American Express offers.

I know some people were hoping to get the sign up bonus on this card before it disappeared, but it looks like that option is no longer available to you. Last week we also saw the Barclaycard Sallie Mae disappear for new applications, I wonder what card is next?

I would seriously doubt that Amex will simply let their customers convert an existing card to one that a different bank owns… much more likely that they will convert JetBlue cards to another Amex, like the Everyday.

I have the JetBlue Amex but hardly ever use it. Does anyone know if cardmembers will be given a choice to go with Barclays or close the account when it switches over?
