The Fine Print

  • Offer valid at Boxed.com or on the Boxed mobile app

Referral Bonus

You can also get $15 off $60 for your first order by using a referral link. If you want to share your link or use another readers, please go here. We will delete anybody who shares their link in this post (this allows us to keep this post on discussion of boxed.com).

Our Verdict

If you’re using a referral link then you’ll want to spend $80 ($15 off leaves you at $65, enough to trigger the American Express offer). In the end you’ll pay $40 for $80. Not a bad deal at all and better than the recent American Express offer for spend $50, get $15. Apparently there is also a Samsung Pay offer for $10 off $50 (costs 10 points to redeem for), no idea how that works though and if you can stack three ways. As always make sure you still price comparison.

  1. Lantean says:

what do you guys buy there?

    • Dustin says:

Paper towels…they also have gift cards if you don’t know what to buy at the moment.

    • Eric says:

I’ve bought many different items there. You can view a list of all of their items by going here: https://www.boxed.com/products/category/34/all-boxed/.

Their own brand (Prince & Spring) is actually pretty good for toilet paper and towel paper and is a decent deal even before the Amex offer.

They allow you to include 2 samples with each order. That way you can try out free items. They also have promo codes quite often such as 10% off an order of $50+.

  2. Kendall says:

Can’t you also stack this the Android pay offer?

  3. Mark says:

I’m not seeing much here that is cheaper than buying in-store or on Amazon.

The stacking offers will most likely make it worth it, but what is everyone else buying? I’m going to feel weird buying $80 of toilet paper.

    • Christine says:

We buy drinks- red bull, tea, starbucks cans, etc. We live on the 4th floor walk up, so it saves me from carrying them up the stairs! Using the AMEX promo makes them comparable to Costco prices, so it’s worth it to me

  4. MarcoPolo says:

    Thanks @Wiiliam
Been waiting for this offer to come back.
I believe the referral link is for first time customers and they will cancel your order if you try to bypass it by signing up with a different email and CC?

  5. MarcoPolo says:

Needless to say that your order total must be $80+ (before discount) if you are using a referral link to get $15 off $60 on your first order.

  6. AM says:

I’ve purchased from Boxed multiple times before. Great service.

This offer also stacks with Acorns and Ibotta, which will give you cash invested and cash back, respectively.

Boxed also has had promo codes in the past. I got one for taking a customer survey recently that I believe can be used by anyone. It’s BOXED10. Apply it on the final check pages.

That brings this down to an even better deal. And you can use my referral code, [removed], and you can earn an extra $10 for your first purchase through Ibotta. You can find that at [removed]

I hope this helps someone! I’m just a recent college graduate trying to make it. Thanks, as always, Doc.

  7. UPS guy says:

As a UPS driver, I deliver a few of these a week, 40-50lb boxes each. Folks I ask about it aren’t about the prices, it’s the convenience. I personally looked through the website, even with stacking promos, Costco and Kroger sales beat them. Feel free to keep ordering, job security, even though I know guys delivering these to apt buildings hate them.

  8. legpanda says:

After taking a survey I was supplied with a 20% off order (no minimum as far as I can tell) promo code, anyone should be able to use it.

    Promo Code: SURVEY

  9. Glenn says:

Did 20 orders of 3pgc using various Amex Cards. All orders subsequently cancelled.

  10. joe says:

    i had something similar…. earlier..

but I’ve been having some occasional Amex Offer issues with automatically being credited recently.

  11. Mike says:

You can also get 4% cashback on your Boxed.com purchase by using Ebates (https://www.ebates.com/boxed.com)

  12. Bob says:

Survey25 is working for an additional 25% off
Topcashback is giving 9% cash back on boxed.com
I have found some items for which the base price (before all the discounts) is better or at least comparable to what i can find elsewhere.
My thanks to anyone who uses my referral link:
    [removed link, read the rules]

  13. Ashhh says:

I got the “spend $65+, get $25” offer on all 7 of my Amex cards. 😀

I wasn’t able to find the link to purchase their gift cards on their website, but found it on google: https://www.boxed.com/gift-cards/
You can’t buy GC of $65, so you’ll have to purchase the next tier, which is $75.

The terms do not exclude gift cards. Last time I purchased gift cards was December 2015, and I received the credit. I’ll purchase ’em again and will report back (if I remember).

  14. Phill says:

PSA: It seems Boxed has changed their merchant ID which is causing the offer to not trigger once you purchase. You need to call Amex to have it manually credited to your account. Cheers!

    • NBG says:

Amex CS wont even listen to any of these arguments. They flat out say wait for 90 days or XX days. Any specific Dept that can help to get the credit manually?.

    • Terry says:

Were you successful in getting it manually credited to your account? No confirmation email for my purchase nor does it show as redeemed on the Offers Added to Card.

      • Derek says:

Absurd on the part of Amex, especially now that they’re an investor in Boxed. (left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing)

  15. NBG says:

For those stuck with credit not posted -call this number and 8002977500 and choose option 4 in the IVR – you will be connected to the Online technical team and tell them about the technical issue where the credit is not automatically posted. They know about this issue and will manually credit after checking your account. You call also mention the info Phill posted 3 posts above this realted to the merchant ID issue.

  16. Terry says:

Received a delayed confirmation email today — five days after the purchase. Have never received one that late before. They must have done something to correct the problem so it looks like I won’t have to call to get the credit.

  17. Swapna says:

$15 OFF first order of $60 + 2 FREE samples + Free Shipping.

    Code: Z3NQG
    Link: https://www.boxed.com/invite/Z3NQG

Use it together with Amex offer to make it a better deal (One Time $25 Statement Credit When You Purchase a Minimum of $65 or More)

If you have multiple amex cards you can buy boxed gift cards and place order from one account. Boxed.com/gift-cards
