  • Earns 3% on gas & 2% on groceries / wholesale clubs, up to a combined $2,500 per quarter
  • Earns 1% on all other purchases, or on gas, groceries, and wholesale club purchases after exceeding the $2,500 per quarter limit

Our Verdict

While it’s not rare to see $200 offers, this is still quite good. If you’re thinking about combining inquiries and can get a 10%+ bonus, it may be worth your time to throw in an application for this card after snagging the card(s) you want, such as the sweet new offer on the Alaska Airlines card. Do note that Bank of America has been much stricter about approving people lately, including limiting some people to four cards, and retroactively canceling approved cards.

As always, make sure you read these things everybody should know about Bank of America cards before applyingAnd, a full list of the best cash sign up bonuses can be found here.

anyone knows if you can get approved if you already have this card? some banks allow you to do that.

Any point calling recon (what number?) or would that be poking the bear, possibly prompting closure of cards. The letter said “We could not approve your request as you have a sufficient number of accounts with us.”

That’s basically what mine said last year.i did call and they confirmed that id need to close some accounts to have a chance, but the CSR said there was no guarantee it would help.

Thanks. I won’t call as it’s clear enough that they don’t want to give any more cards for now. I want to keep the BoA cards I’ve got and use them (with PR-PH) so I’ll hold off applying to BoA for a while.

I have six, maybe seven BofA cards. During the MLB rush, I tried to open another. Was denied for too much BofA credit. That was a year plus ago. Would it be worth closing my youngest two cards (around 18 mo) with them and try again?

As a note, BoA has put out $200 for $500 targeted mailers before. That waz enough for me to get one 😉

Denied. no explanation. 1 checking account and 2 BOA BBR cards currently. stellar credit.

Had 5 of these when they did the MLB teams. Fulfilled and closed 4 mo ago. Wife and I got approved for one each, not trying for more this time. FICO 803.

With them tightening the belt, I’m going to wait for the $200 offer and then in for two. I tend to keep my cards open, and already have 2 with BoA. Not sure how much it would hurt me to close cards, but I have a thinner file…

I already had 4 BoA cards, so I got a HP and a denial.

They have more cards with the same bonus… should I apply for multiple at a time?

Doc, I am going to apply for amex blue business plus card. Only the affiliate links have the 20k sign up bonus. Can you get a link we can use. I want to use your link instead of any other bloggers since I can explicitly account for your site being profitable for me, unlike other bloggers which have articles to read about them having fun.

Also keep in mind we don’t use affiliate links, so by using our links we don’t actually get any benefit :).
