Barclaycard Arrival & Ring Cards Not Currently Available For New Sign Ups

Update: As Gary Leff from View From The Wing pointed out via e-mail, it’s still available via affiliate channels. Who knows what Barclaycard is up to.

Barclaycard isn’t currently accepting applications on their Arrival+, Arrival or Ring products. Instead it says to check back later to apply (see below).

The last time this happened, Barclaycard made some negative changes to these cards. I suspect more changes are in store, if they were positive changes I don’t see why they would have put a halt to applications. Although it’s entirely possible that no changes are in store and they have stopped applications for other reasons.

The Plus was my everyday card, but now I am thinking of downgrading to avoid the AF this year. How long do these freezes typically last? I was thinking of churning the Plus at a later time, but now I am hesitant to want to product change.

As for the Ring card not being available, here is the explanation I received from a community manager today. “Thank you for your question. We can’t accept applications for Barclaycard Ring because we are currently updating our application process and we plan to make applications for our product available again once those updates are complete.”

Could it be they are gearing for a push to their titanium, black , and gold cards?

Many of their other cards aren’t showing up on the website either. I doubt they are getting rid of 50-60 percent of their cards! Perhaps a website overhaul is going on?

The card doesn’t show up on their main website as a product offering anymore. It looks like they are discontinuing it…

Interesting if you go to their site (www.barclaycardus.com), the cards don’t even show up anymore.
I wonder if they are phasing it out and replacing it with their no fee cards:
CashForward and Rewards Mastercards…

I would think this is probably just a back end update. I doubt they are changing that many cards at once.
