If you have Cricket Wireless prepaid (cheap family plan), there is currently a promo I saw on slickdeals that allows you to buy a $70 refill card for 20% off if you buy a $1.99 SIM card. A worthwhile deal, so I first bought one of these gift cards because, hey, why not. Keep in mind that the $10 bonus is only good for a couple weeks and starts at the end of May. So I’d only bother if you’re buying something now at Best Buy anyway.

So wait, were you able to use BB gift card to buy the Cricket fill ups?

Yes, you can use BB gift cards for Cricket refill cards. In store or online.

The “problem” with this deal is you don’t immediately get the $10 savings. It’s credited at the end of May and you can use it for about 2 weeks. Hopefully, they’ll be something to buy with it. I’m assuming you can apply that “savings code” to a Cricket refill card as well, but no guarantees.

But since they’re currently selling the refill cards at a discount with the SIM card purchase, there’s no risk in trying.

DP – does not trigger 2x best buy amex offer since it redirects to bestbuy.cashstar.com

Why would anyone shop at Best Buy? Ridiculously overpriced. Only time I’ve bought something from them the last decade is when I need something immediately. But then return as soon as my online order arrives. For small stuff, BB is often 50-100% more expensive. Astounding they are still in business.

They price match. Would rather price match at Best Buy vs purchase at Amazon because I can return at Best Buy for free. I also earn rewards at Best Buy.

When there are Amex offers, I use Best Buy for third party gift cards. I earn points when I do so, which I use to buy more third party gift cards.

Meijer gift cards can be redeemed to buy third party gift cards. I’ve had luck with that the past couple months. They’ve frequently been 6% off on ebay recently.

Per household. And per billing address.
