Best Posts Last Week: AmEx Business Rules Change, Foreign Exchange Rates, Increased Offers & More

Biggest news last week was that American Express changed the bonus rules for their business cards, you can now no longer get the bonus if you’ve ever held the card before (previously you couldn’t have held it in the last twelve months). Things change and the creative adapt, reminiscing won’t put more cash back, miles & points into your account.

Chuck put together a great article on how business credit cards report on your personal credit report and I put together an interesting piece on how credit card issuers determine the foreign exchange rate that is used. Citi increased the sign up bonus on their Citi Hilton no annual fee card to 75,000 points and Alaska Airlines leaked that they would be offering 30,000 miles on their Bank of America card in May.

We added a bunch more bank account bonuses last week, no real stand outs (unless the Santander $500 business one isn’t targeted). But Vibrant is offering $500 for a checking account and credit card application for those in IL & IA, just be pre-warned of the hard pull on TransUnion. KeyBank is offering $300 for those in AK, CO, ID, IN, ME, MI, NY, OH, OR, UT, VT, or WA only but they have offered slightly better bonuses in the past.

Almost all the deals we covered last week have now expired, so follow us on Twitter if you don’t already so you don’t miss out. You should be aware that Paypal Digital Gifts are now limiting us to four gift cards per 10 day rolling period, not exactly good news for gift card resellers like myself. Subaru is offering a $50 Visa gift card for a test drive and last but not least you can get a free drink and a $5 gift card from Dunkin Donuts.
