Best Posts Last Week: Chase Sapphire Reserve, US Bank FlexPerks Olympics & More

I officially rename last week, Chase Sapphire Reserve week. The new card finally launched as predicted, our full review can be read here. If you’re over 5/24, then you’re going to want to apply in branch (there are a few other things to do when you go in branch as well – including the 70,000 Chase Ink Plus bonus). Chuck put together a very useful F.A.Q for those wanting to go the in branch route. You can also read this to make sure you’ll get pre-approved offers. The Chase Palladium Reserve was also launched, basically the same benefits with lounge club access.

The other thing that didn’t get much attention was the fact that the U.S. Bank FlexPerks card is now at 34,800 points due to the Olympics – well worth considering. We didn’t add any new bank account bonuses this week, but keep an eye out next week! Wells Fargo are offering $10 for using their Wallet App, Staples has a deal on American Express gift cards this week (purchase $300 and get $20 Staples rebate) and you can also get $10 off $10+ at CVS with curbside.

It wasn’t a great week for manufactured spending, RadPad ended their free rent promotion early. AmEx shut down more Serve accounts and the Nationwide Buxx card is no longer available for new sign ups. The bright side is that Plastiq will let you pay your mortgage or rent with a Mastercard and only charge you a 1.75% fee.
