Blue Cash Everyday: Up To $450 Back ($150 Sign Up Bonus + 5% On Travel)

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Receive a sign up bonus of $150 after you spend $500 on purchases within the first three months of card membership on the Blue Cash Everyday card (You might see an offer for only $100, apparently I was seeing the higher incognito mode offer. Some people are seeing an offer for $250, if you see the $250 offer then this is a great offer that I’d take)
  • You’ll also earn 5% back on up to $4,000 in eligible travel purchases on the card within the first six months of card membership

blue cash everyday

Card Details

  • No annual fee
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets (up to $6,000 in spend annually, then 1%)
    • 1% back on all other purchases
  • You can only get the sign up bonus on American Express cards once

Our Verdict

The standard bonus on this card is $100, recently they have offered the following:

You can also sometimes get $250 back by using incognito mode. Personally I’d wait and get the $250 back sign up bonus, a lot of cards offer bonuses in the travel category. Even if you did the full 5% back on $4,000 in purchases, you’d earn $350. If you got the $250 offer and put all that spend on a 2% cardyou’d earn $330, so they are exceptionally close and that doesn’t take into account putting any of that $4,000 in spend on a higher category earning card.

There is also a similar but better deal on the Blue Cash Preferred card. Before applying for either read these things you should know about American Express cards.

I think they target specific locations at specific times. Normally I can get nicer offers in NJ, but this one showed up in NYC.

It went to the same page when I clicked through the preferred link too…weird. I guess they really want me to get the ED card.

Check again through the Tor Browser. Make sure to select an exit node in the US. It takes a couple tries, but this trick can help replicate those regional offers (if your profile supports it).

I got the same offer ($250 after $1000 spend in 3 months + 5% on Travel) on the every day.

I had hoped to get the account number immediately since I have to book some flights tonight but apparently, this option is shown via popup — which seems to be a (unnecessary) horrible way to deliver important information.

I asked to get expedited shipping, but she said it comes with USPS — after 10 days I can request to get a card overnight via UPS. Not too useful.

If you want to get the number immediately — you’d better disable popup blockers. But given the other experiences here, I might not have been able to use the card immediatly anyways.

another jab at churners: category-restricted min spend. this is where it’s going 🙁

My spouse received a direct snail mailer for the Blue Cash Everyday card this month:

$250 back as a statement credit after $1,000 spend
0% introductory apr 15 months
3% US supermarkets, 2% US gas stations, 2% select US department stores, 1% everywhere else

offer was good through mid September. She applied and was instantly accepted (several inquiries in last 180 days, several new accounts in last 90 days, 1 new amex card in last 90 days, excellent credit). She also received an instant number.

She attempted to use this number on ebay recently via my paypal account, but it was declined. Is this because she was trying to use a card with a different name then the paypal account owner? We share the same address, which is my paypal account and her billing address for the card. Or, does AMEX limit what the new account can be used for prior to receipt of the physical card?

Personally, I would prefer the offer she received to the offer above, as I already have hotel branded cards to use for lodging, and my employer forces me to use their corporate card for airfare. My travel spending is therefore fairly limited to start. Of course, if only I could get some direct mail offers from AMEX!

My amex card had the same issue. It would work on Amazon but other merchants got declined.

When I received the card, it had a different CVC/CCID than the one I was given online.

Direct link takes me to a $100 after $1000 spend offer. Targeted or dead?

Man, Amex must really be hurting. Increased fees, warranty crackdowns (in my exp), increased conditional sign up bonuses, and increased targeted offers (in my exp).

I also haven’t apped for a card since late last year tho, so that might be part of it (those 780+ FICOs tho).
