Cardcash Earning 5x Again with INK

Via @milesfortwo, Cardcash now earns 5x when paying with INK, at least when using Paypal.

cardcash

Cardcash used to earn 5x with INK, both with Paypal and without, then it stopped working back in June. It’s now working again, but only when paying with Paypal. Direct purchases don’t work.

Presumably, Abcgiftcards.com purchased through Paypal will work the same and code at 5x; from memory, both come through as ‘Cardcash’ on the credit card.

Not terribly surprising that they brought back their old coding since I’m sure they lost a nice amount of business from resellers when they dropped the 5x coding.

We’ll conclude with the standard caveat that buying second-hand cards is never 100% foolproof and there’s lots of fraud. Be sure to use up second-hand cards up within the guarantee timeframe (with Cardcash it’s 45 days) so that they’ll stand behind. There are also credit card protections if it has to come to that.

These comments trashing Cardcash are hilarious. I’ve bought over $150,000 in ecards from Cardcash in the past 16 months. I’ve had fewer than 10 problem cards, and ZERO problem getting reimbursed in 1 – 2 days max for each one. Not sure about the 45 day limit issues, because I use them immediately after buying them. Why would you hold onto a balance for > 45 days anyways???

And thanks for letting me know about the Paypal INK hack, I wish I’d read this back in December. I just tried it this morning and will try to remember to report back on whether the 5x UR’s still works.

Yea! The 5x ultimate rewards does indeed work for Cardcash.com purchases using your INK Business Plus Card through Paypal!!!!!! I’ll be adding an additional 250,000 UR points in the next few months!

Anyone know if the Amex Simplycash Biz card offers 5% on any of these other categories that might not necessarily be office supply?

Wow that’s impressive Kevin! Will give them a check.

May I ask how you are cycling through so much volume so quick?

Adding those kinds of points (especially with 5x) so quickly would be a dream!

Cheers,

Jan

Hi Jan, I sell goods on Amazon, and use giftcards to purchase goods at various stores. I can usually spend at least $10,000 a month on gift cards.

CardCash is a terrible company. They basically won’t honor their cards after 45 days… and even then probably won’t do much to help. DON’T BUY used gift cards. Either this company, or the original owners, go grab the money after the 45 days have passed. Who needs to buy cards like this? I lost money and will never deal with them again. Be smart. Stay away!

probably because they are a shitty company and PayPal doesn’t want to get stuck.

Does ABC Gift Cards also earn 5% with Ink? I think I read somewhere they are the same company as cardcash.

That’s a very good news to me. It’ll cover some loss from Sallie Mae’s death.

I’m in the same boat but worst case I’ll just buy an ecard from Gyft which also codes 5x with INK. Difference being this isn’t a second hand card. Sure, the discount is less (1% right now) but its negligible in my book when you factor in fraud risk and what I call PITA factor, which in this case is having to buy a new gift card each month since I wouldn’t buy a larger denomination that may exceed the 45 day guarantee.

Oh wow. I didn’t know that Gyft works in 5x category.

And yeah. It may be much less hassle than dealing with physical cards.

I meant the Sallie Mae Mastercard from Barclaycard. The notorious student loan business will be there to remain.

I’ve had good experiences with them. Once I tried to use a card just outside of the 45-day mark (I think it was about 48 days… stupid, I know), and it had been drained. I wrote their customer service team a note, and they refunded my money within a day, no questions asked.

I have had trouble with them. Numerous bad cards and had to fight to get my money back but only to get other cards.

Giftcardmart, a more reliable gift card reseller than Cardcash, also eards 5X with Chase Ink + Paypal.

I never heard of them and I don’t see them on gift card granny. Did you mean gift card mall? If so, I don’t think they earn 5x

Giftcardmart is going to be probably the safest place to buy second hand cards. Why you ask? It’s because they only work with bulk sellers and will not accept cards from a random Joe like cardcash. Result is less fraud and risk to the buyer.
