Changes To The Citi Easy Deals Program

On January 29th, 2017 Citi are making some changes to their Citi Easy Deals program. Previously Citi Easy Deals has allowed you to purchase merchandise at a discounted price, but you had to pay points to access the deals. Under the new program points will no longer require points, instead there will be three tiers based on your annual purchases:

  • Base tier ($0 minimum annual purchases): gives you access to great local coupons for restaurants, shops and services near you
  • Enhanced tier ($100 minimum annual purchases): gives you access to Base tier benefits as well as deals to save on gift cards and magazines
  • Plus tier ($500 minimum annual purchases): gives you access to Base tier and Enhanced tier benefits as well as daily deals, plus savings on merchandise and travel

Existing cardholders will have access to the Plus tier until December 31st, 2018. Citi Easy Deals has never been useful (I bet a lot of people didn’t even know about it), so hopefully this change also means a change in the types of deals they offer.

There’s a few good buy one get free offers for local restaurants but otherwise completely underwhelming as I’ve come to expect from Citibank.

this is the absolute worst reward program in the market. Almost as bad as Amex’s plenti. Atleast plenti allows you to earn and redeem at at&t and exxon.
I have had the diamond preferred reward card for about 7 years now. the only thing that is preventing me from canceling it is the good balance transfer offers

OMG same thing here. I never heard of this program at all. I can’t even sign in. But I’ve had my card for like 20 years and my limit is awesome and the balance transfer offers. I agree it’s the only thing going for this card.

Have had multiple Citi cards for years and never heard of this program. Clearly nothing like Amex sync deals…
