I recently got the chase freedom unlimited and applied for Chase freedom. The fraud dept called and said to expect letter requesting copy of DL, etc. do they even give bonuses on both cards?

Husband denied for the regular Chase Freedom, so we won’t even bother with this one, although it looks good. I can’t apply since I’m like 18/24… lol… 🙂

Unsure if this is a great card or not. The Capital One Quicksilver is also 1.5% CB with no foreign transaction fee… The promo for Chase is $50 more than QUicksilver ($100 after $500 spent)

If we’re just talking about using the card for cash back, there’s certainly equal or better options out there. Chase isn’t honestly that flexible of a lender, IMO. CLIs are almost always HP, they will never your APR, rarely give any special spend promos, etc. They just aren’t that customer friendly IMO. So the only people who should bother with this card are those who will pair with a CSP for transfers. For cash back, go to a different product, IMO.

Applied via phone immediately after receiving the newsletter. Didn’t instantly approved. Now I also get a denial letter.

Received an email from creditkarma advertising the early access offer and link to apply online. However apprehensive about the 5/24 rule. Would wait to see.

It appears that your summary missed a major negative on the Chase Freedom Unlimited card.
5% BT fee for a 15 month period.

Quote:
0% Intro APR for 15 months on purchases. After the intro period, a variable APR of 14.24%, 19.24% or 23.24%

0% Intro APR for 15 months on balance transfers. After the intro period, a variable APR of 14.24%, 19.24%, or 23.24%
Balance transfer fee is 5% of the amount transferred with a minimum of $5.

I found the same terms on two different links to this new card.

My spouse got denied based on too many new cards. Phone application was 5-6 days ago and got the letter in the mail yesterday. Called recon today and rep was very nice in explaining the policy applied to the Sapphire and both Freedom products. Asked if closing United Explorer card was an option and moving the credit line, and he said he wished he could but couldn’t. He said it was based on number of new cards opened since March 2014, so quite clearly 5/24 is now in effect for this.
