Chase Sapphire Reserve Link Accidentally Goes Live (No Longer Available) – Confirms What We Know & More

The First Link (NO Bonus)

Today a link for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card went live (found by /r/churning user adp5x7). This first link did not have the bonus attached to it, as confirmed by Chase customer service representatives. This isn’t good news as the sign up bonus is 100,000 points after $4,000 in spend. That being said, I wouldn’t panic if you did use this link – it’s possible the Chase reps were wrong and even if not you should be able to get matched to the new offer.

Update: Shawn from Miles to Memories says that:

Hey Will. Just wanted to let you know a bit more about the CSR offer. The first link and the second link were the same. The landing page when it was found redirected to the same exact application link that was initially posted. Everyone who applied thus used the same link. Apparently more recent data points show the bonus is showing in the system now.

Looks like good news on that front.

Second Link (100,000 Bonus)

Reddit user HatFullOfGasoline then posted a link that clearly displayed the 100,000 bonus.

Chase 5/24 Rule

We weren’t sure how many readers would be eligible for this card with the Chase 5/24 rule being in place. Early data is showing that it doesn’t look like this rule was applied for these new applications at all. /r/churning has an interesting survey you can take if you applied, you can also view the results. Currently it looks like 33/52 people are currently approved and 48/52 of applicants were over the 5/24 rule. This means that at minimum 29 people out of 52 were able to get approved for the card when they were over 5/24 (and a lot of those that weren’t are still pending).

Confirmation Of Details

We’ve been constantly posting details as they emerge about this new card. We now have confirmation that what we’ve heard was true. A quick recap for those that haven’t been paying attention:

  • Sign up bonus of 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, $4,000 minimum spend within three months
  • Card will earn the following rates:
    • 3x points on travel & dining purchases worldwide
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Annual fee of $450
  • Authorized user fee of $75
  • $300 annual travel credit for travel purchases automatically applied to your account. This applies to all travel purchases, more on this shortly.
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Complimentary lounge access at over 900+ lounges (this indicates it’s a Priority Pass Select membership)
  • Points will be transferable to Chase travel partners (we didn’t already know this, but it was assumed since the lower annual fee Chase Sapphire Preferred does this)
  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit of up to $100
  • 50% bonus when redeeming points through Chase Ultimate Rewards for airfare, hotels, car rentals and cruises
  • Visa Infinite
  • Exclusive events and experiences

Our Thoughts

Sorry we missed getting the links on the blog, that’s unfortunately one of the downsides of having a real job. I’ve got my fingers crossed that people who used the first link will be able to get the 100,000 point bonus. I’ve also got my fingers crossed that people who missed out on this card will be able to get approved even if they are over 5/24. This card is really ridiculous, these benefits will surely be nerfed at some stage. Annual fee of $450 is easily covered by the $300 travel credit (remember you can get it twice and only pay an annual fee once), this makes redeeming your points more valuable through Chase Ultimate Rewards and 3x on travel & dining is a game changer for people with a lot of reimbursable expenses.

Also shout out to Frequent Miler & Miles To Memories & of course /r/churning

I went to the chase today to open a joint checking account – and starting Monday Chase Special Consideration will no longer be available. This according to a Private Client banker.

Just wanted to give you heads up

DOC – Since you seem to have a Chase contact, is there any way to know if 5/24 will not be enforced in the initial rollout next week?

At 4/24 here and was planning to get a different Chase card before CSR was announced.

Lets say so you apply 8/21/16 and get the 300 travel credit in 2016 and 2017. Can the annual fee 450 be refunded if you cancel in 6 months (after fee posts in Aug 2017) and after getting the 300 credit in 2018?

I know the chase INK you can cancel within 6 months after annual fee posts and get your money back. Would this apply to the Sapphire reserve and all other chase cards ( business or personal)?

Currently have the regular sapphire. Would I be able to get the signup bonus?

It’s a separate product; having the Sapphire Preferred shouldn’t stop you from getting the bonus on the Sapphire Reserve.

That’s an insane amount of credit cards. Have you gotten declined at all in the past 24 months?

It is assumed it will apply to the card in the long run. But whether you can squeak in before that is not determined.

Hopefully 5/24 does not apply for the official chase launch for at least a grace period of a few days. What a letdown to miss this!!! :((

Never mind. That was the Preferred, not the new Reserve.

The only thing that may keep the card from being nerfed super quickly is 5/24. The number of people who can qualify are fairly limited.

Was at 42/24, now 43/24. Initially denied but approved for 10k CL after moving credit around from pre-existing Chase cards – so 5/24 doesn’t apply for now.

9th active chase card btw.
