  • Annual loyalty bonus of 10,000 Hilton HHonors bonus points at end of each calendar year in which you spend $1,000 or more on stays with the Hilton Portfolio
  • Standard Visa Signature Benefits
  • Hilton HHonors Bonus Points offer not available if you have had a Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card account that was opened or closed in the past 24 months

Our Verdict

This is the highest bonus we’ve seen on this card, but Citi has been increasingly offering it (e.g same time last year, then again February and then that deal was unofficially extended). There is also an increased bonus on the Citi Hilton Reserve card (now includes a $100 statement credit in addition to the 2 free weekend nights) and American Express has increased offers on both their Hilton cards as well:

So I expected we will probably see further increased on these cards sometime in the next year. Because of that I wouldn’t recommend this card unless you have specific redemption in mind with Hilton for the near future. I don’t find their points to be particularly valuable, but that depends on your particular travel goals. Before applying for this card, read this post on things you should know about Citi credit cards.

Incognito showing 40,000/$1000 for me (closed and opened a few times to make sure). I was able to see the offer after logging in to my HHonors account and clicking the bonus offer on the account overview screen. I just got the Amex version though, and don’t feel like dealing with 2 sign-up bonuses right now, otherwise I’d be all over this.

If my wife was an authorized user on my Citi Hilton account, if she applies directly as the only cardholder will she receive the bonus points in her Hilton account?

I’m getting this offer through the link without going incognito.

Same, but I opted for the AMEX version so did not apply. Hopefully the Citi offer will increase if William’s predictions are correct.

Note that the “fast track to gold status” is wasted if you are already a Hilton Gold or Diamond, whether earned or as part of a recent status match. This benefit won’t extend your current Gold status, nor will it begin when your Diamond status ends. Therefore, time your application accordingly if the fast track benefit is useful to you.
