A Correction On Changes To The Chase Ink Cash

On January 11th we posted a story about changes to the Chase INK Cash card that story included some inaccuracies. Chase have two Ink Cash cards:

  • Ink Cash (legacy card, no longer available)
  • Ink Business Cash (current card that is still available)

On January 29th the following will occur:

…your Ink Cash® Rewards will become a part of Chase Ultimate Rewards! Your Cash Back rewards that have not already expired will automatically transfer to Chase Ultimate Rewards where you’ll have even more benefits and options

Note that this only affects the Ink Cash legacy card and not the current Ink Business Cash card (that card already earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points). Apologies for anybody that got excited at the possibility of the current card being able to possibly transfer to travel partners, that will not be the case for either card.

I haven’t received my notice yet, but the legacy card said “Business” under the stylized “INK” on it, where the new version read “Business Cash”.

The legacy card earned 3% at home improvement stores. But Lowe’s business card offers 5%, so the use of the Ink Cash (legacy) wasn’t much of a draw for me.

The ability to transfer points to others and programs will likely be limited to those with a link to a qualifying card (e.g. Ink Plus, Ink Bold, Ink Preferred, CSP, CSR)

Wait – I’m confused. The graphic shows Ink Business. I thought Ultimate Rewards meant you could transfer to airlines/hotels, etc?
