Credit Card Bonuses With No Minimum Spend Requirements

Not everybody does a lot of spending that can be put on a credit card and not everybody feels comfortable doing manufactured spending. For people like this, they are usually reluctant to get involved in credit card sign up bonuses because they usually come with a minimum spending requirement (e.g spend $3,000 within three months and receive 50,000 points). I decided it’d be useful to make a list of credit card sign up bonuses that have no minimum spend requirements (e.g receive 50,000 points after approval/first purchase).

I’ve split this list into two: bonuses where you get the full bonus with no minimum spend requirement and bonuses where you get part of the bonus with no minimum spend requirement (e.g receive 20,000 points after first purchase and another 30,000 points when you spend $5,000 within three months).

I’ve also tried to list this offers in order from best to worst, but obviously this is pretty subjective so read through them all to make your own judgement (feel free to disagree with me in the comments). The best offers are typically from Barclaycard & U.S Bank.

Final Thoughts

I’m sure I’m missing some bonuses, let’s try and turn this into a collaborative resource – let me know which bonuses I’m missing in the comments and I’ll add them. Also keep in mind we don’t use any credit card affiliate links, so there is no ulterior motive here and no biases in which cards are/aren’t listed – if you see something missing let us know!

If this post is popular, I’ll do a similar post for bonuses that require a small amount of spend (sub $500 and sub $1,000). I can also highlight why I think certain offers are the best, if people are interested in hearing my reasoning.

Helpful post. Note that the better Alaska Airlines offer is actually a split one:

    25,000 miles on approval
$100 statement credit after $1,000 spend

  2. Kadence says:

would love to know your thoughts on each and the value of each signup bonus.

  3. Liz says:

I’d love to see a post on cards that only require a small amount of spend.

    • Paul says:

@Liz, LOL. Not trying to be rude, but doesn’t this cover the low end while every other post about top offers covers the high end? Not really sure there is a middle ground (or small amount of spend), and even if there were it would be subjective.

  4. Aahz says:

    Thanx for the great resource!

Are you sure the Coast to Coast Visa Signature Credit Card is still available? I have been unable to find a working app link for it, just year old reviews.

  5. Steve says:

Various store cards have offers like 10% off of first purchase or money back, etc.

The Amazon.com cards offer $40/$50 off\gift card after approval, depending on whether you’re Prime, store card vs Chase, etc. (You’ve covered this previously.)

The Sony card sometimes offers $200 after $500 spend.

  6. Adam says:

great post, will… can you possibly do a recap (for old times sake) of the best no min spend or low min spend offers for the last however many years?

like a best of bonanza offers. either to reminisce the good ol days or to see how things used to be. or perhaps even something to look forward to in the future since the economy is cyclical and financial markets may allow these kinda offers to return.

not sure how long you’ve been in the game, and I realize this is gonna be mostly from memory. but perhaps you could get a post started and folks might add their best of sign up bonus offers in the comments?

for example, one of the best was ofc Barclay’s US Air @ 30k, 40k, 50k and IIRC there was even an offer of 50k, AF waived + 10k perpetual anniversary bonus miles.
I think doing a compilation list of sorts (with all the offers for any given product folks can remember) — just as a basic knowledge base/info dump here would be great!

  7. jeff says:

seems like there are not many cash bonuses on this list. the good cash bonus cc’s require more spend it seems.

  8. Paul says:

    Will,

Can you make a post discussing every credit card in the world; every promotional offer that each card has offered during its existence; and which offer is best based on every different circumstance or personal preference?
That would be the cat’s meow.

    Keep up the good work!

I was considering applying for Wyndham after recently being declined on a 2nd Arrival (no fee card). This was a surprise as I was offered this card as a downgrade after I chose to close my first Arrival Plus. She explained that since I had the US MC CL maxed out from their view, I could not have the non-AF card. Then, after discussion, if I surrendered a portion of the US MC CL, I COULD have the non-AF card BUT without a bonus since I had the bonus with the Arrival Plus (which is considered “same” brand).

Anybody has anything good to say about Wyndham rewards program or the hotel stays? Thanks.
