When you open a new savings or checking account, some banks give you the option of using your credit card for the initial deposit. On this page we’ve got a number of data points for which banks (and credit cards) count as cash advances and which don’t.
Avoid cash advance fees by setting your cash advance limit to $0. You can call up your bank and request your cash advance limit be set to $0. Also remember that this is just a collection of data points and by no means means that your transaction will not be coded as a cash advance.

Funded security plus credit union share account with $2k from chase United business card. Coded as purchase.
they pull chex with every account opened.
Service credit union DP
Capital one Venture x coded as purchase
Capital One Venture One coded as cash advance
UW Credit Union funded $500 on 4/16 with Chase Freedom Unlimited posted as purchase.
Just did a $1000 6mo Certificate at OnPath with my Ink Cash.
ming,
That’s an interesting DP. I don’t recall anyone previously reporting that OnPath allows credit card funding on CDs. Can you check if OP did a Chex inquiry for the CD opening?
Just pulled it, yes they did.
I might try for a CD when I have my Chex frozen for some other accounts to see what happens. Let me know if you decide to try for another CD with your Chex frozen.
I just checked opening a 6 mo cert and it’s now $100 max cc funding. Did they just change it?
Being mentioned on this page (or anywhere on DoC) seems like a death sentence lately.
“Loose lips sink ships”
Even for their checking or savings application, OnPath only allows $100 CC funding during the application, but you can request them to increase the CC funding to a maximum of $1000 when they contact you (or you can proactively message them). I assume CD applications are the same. LX JD
UHCU is dead!
DP: independent bank took $5000 and $3900 when opening checking account. Cash advancr set to $0 on both cards. $5000 is a Chase United Business. $3900 is a barclay Wyndham business. Hope this helps. Both charges are pending at the moment. The page says $1000. When i funded the acct, it did not have a maxium. Just a box to type in a dollar amount.
Did you open the two account together during application? When I added two accounts, it still lets me to fund using only one credit card. I wonder how did you use two cards. Thanks.
is this state specific?
Is Independent Bank very strict about footprint? I’m not a resident of Michigan or Ohio.
Blupeak DEAD! Thanks, people of doctor of credit
Man in car complains about traffic
Unlike you, some people people do their DD on their own, not on DOC
You didn’t find it on your own.
Blupeak D.E.A.D! thanks people of Doctor of credit!
BluPeak no longer shows $1,500 in cc funding… R.I.P.
Any advice on banks/CU that allow +$2-5K funding with CC that is available nationally and not sensitive to chex? All recent DPs down here show either chex sensitive or state specific. Already have blupeak and US Bank business. Not interested in welcome promo in banks/CU

Most stupid comment I have seen. I did search DPs as I mentioned above. Don’t be a troll

Hate to break it to you but Blupeak maybe done for.

Would you like creamer on the side too?
Any updates to this? I’ve only found securityplus as an option
I was able to open KeyPoint and OnPath as well
are those both chex sensitive? I tried keypoint and got declined but willing to try again soon. Whats the limit for onpath? havent heard of them before
ss1050,
You should be able to gather some good info about OnPath in the below post.

Keypoint was pretty much dead for credit card funding. They only allowed $500. Are you saying you opened a account at KeyPpoint for more than $500 recently, as in the last few two weeks?
Keypoint is $500 now. However, if you have an account with them, you can open additional accounts with instant approval. Each additional account allows $500 cc funding. (you can also open multiple accounts under the same account type). I know it is still too much work for some people, but I found multiple $500 cc funding opportunities useful.

How does that work for CDs since they are $1000 minimum and the credit card funding is $500 max? They allow split payment?
I don’t see how that is possible. I tried to open a 1 month CD but on the funding page the debit/credit button says: “Visa or MasterCard Debit/Credit Card (max $500) Only available for checking or savings procducts”
I went back and replace the CD with a second QuickStart Savings account. It was approved immediately like you said. I wonder what is the limit or cap, and why would they allow something like that.
2 days after seeing the pending charge of $500 on my credit card and the SECOND QuickStart savings account appearing on my online account, I received a message from Kpcu telling me that they do not allow two accounts of the same type per customer and that I need to pick another type. I replied with “pick any other type”. We’ll see what see reply with.

“One account per member” for QuickStart Savings, but not others. IyadN
Thanks. They switched it to “Smart” savings and it went through and was funded fine. I wish they didn’t nerf the CC funding maximum though 🙁
It’s not instant approval. Mine went to review and I forgot all about it until my CC was charged 10 days later. Then, they froze my accts after the cc funding hold was REMOVED and said that it was a normal review that caused the freeze. Would have been nice to know about the hold when it occurred. Just be careful when pulling funds from them bc your acct may be frozen. 🤷♀️
I would steer clear of them. They took my cc deposit but the account never showed up! Have had to deal with this for 20+ hours at this point and, worst of all, I still do not have my money! It’s still “under investigation”!! FFS!!
I had issues getting my referral bonus. That is my only real complaint about them. As far as the funding, I think that they are just slow/understaffed. They have 1 person doing apps. My funding was charged/pending on my cc for a few wks until they finally approved the app.

I would stay away from securityplus. It took them weeks to do what should have taken days. They run Chex everytime you open an account after your a memeber. 1.5 stars out of 5 at depositaccounts.com .
