eBay: 10% Bucks Offer, $100 BP Gift Card for $67

The Offer

eBay is sending out a targeted Bucks offer today:

  • Get 10% back in eBay Bucks on purchases $50+

Offer valid through September 16 PT, three days only.

Stack the Deal

There are a number of things that stack together at the moment to make it an awesome time to buy stuff on eBay, including third party gift cards:

As an example, you might be able to get $100 BP or Speedy gas gift card for just $67. The $100 gas gift cards are selling for $92, but after deducting $15 and 10% and 1.2% it ends up around $67, aside from regular credit card points you’ll earn on the purchase.

If you have discounted eBay gift cards, you might end up paying just $65 or less.

Here’s a list of current gift card options:

Unfortunately, the $100 Exxon cards are sold out.

Our Verdict

I’m really bummed that I stopped getting Bucks offers the past few weeks. For those with the Bucks or coupon offer, it’s sure a good time to buy now. It’s great also that they made this a three-day offer.

The BP deal (GCW 89%) and Speedy (GCW 88%) and Cabela’s (GCW 76%) and Banana (GCW 74%) have some resale potential.

Random question but does anyone know how to set Paypal to default to a credit card for payment instead of the bank account? Obviously they encourage bank transfer so they can charge 3%+ when it costs them nothing, but it’s frustrating to go through the authorization twice when buying from PPDG.

I have multiple items – each one less than $50 – totaling $128 and ebay is saying $2.56 in ebay bucks at checkout even though I activated the 10% ebay bucks promo. I even logged out and logged back in twice. Any idea if this is for a single item only? It looks like the language in the terms “10% in eBay Bucks on every qualifying item of $50 or more” only applies to a purchase of a single item $50 or more. http://pages.ebay.com/rewards/091416.html

I didn’t get the Bucks offer on either account. Trying decide if I should wait to unload my ebay gift cards or pull the trigger. I know they usually don’t have Bucks offers next month so maybe another one before October?

I got this offer. Also I got the 6 % offer they just had. I hadn’t gotten an offer in a while and I also hadn’t bought anything in a while. I did use the 6% offer to buy a set of dishes.

I kept checking my email and I finally got the 10% offer. Yes! Now I can finally use up my remaining ~$150 in ebay gift cards.

Has anybody tried to purchase the Best Buy gc and sell to third party such as Saveya? Is it possible ?(given the short time till the extra gift card expires)

Because the promotional code is separate from the main gift card, you can still sell the main gift card to any of the resell sites.

Even though the promotional code can be balance checked like a GC, the expiration date will get you in trouble with the resell sites. I’d suggest doing what others are doing here and turn the promo codes into another gift card.

It’s looking that I was only awarded eBay Bucks for the portion of my order paid for with cash; I didn’t earn Bucks on the amount I paid with gift cards.

Is that a longstanding policy, or something that’s also changed?

Correction: EBay only showed the bucks earned from the last item in my cart at checkout. All of my Bucks actually did post!

I need more circles, and less arrows.

Showing how to stack deals isn’t really going to kill offers that are already dead in the water.
