The Offer

The Fine Print
- You must be an American Express cardholder to receive this offer
- You can only access this offer once every 12 months
Our Verdict
Your PLUS credit score isn’t used by lenders, it’s a FAKO score which is only educational &Â designed specifically for consumers. As such it’s not a good idea to put a lot of stock into this score, it should only be used as a very general outline of how your credit score.
There is no harm in using this service offered by American Express, but you can also get free access to your FAKO credit scores by using one of the three major credit monitoring sites: Quizzle, Credit Sesame & Credit Karma.
The best part of this offering from AmEx is the ability to get access to your credit report for free an extra time (you can access each of your three credit reports under the FCRA by going to annualcreditreport.com). I’d suggest using this feature to ensure that all information on your credit report is up to date and accurate.
Have you taken advantage of this feature that American Express offers? What are your thoughts?
interesting, just came across this post. the offer for your credit score, report and info is still working.
however, even after logging in and confirming my basic info, it still asks for the full SSN. I’m weary it might be a hard pull.
I went ahead with it, lets see if I get dinged or not.
was it a hard or a soft pull?
