We compiled these lists by looking at data found in the credit boards credit pull database (make sure you add in your own information to help it grow). We only included data from the start of 2008 onwards and have removed duplicated listings where possible. You can also add to this list by commentating, just make sure you state whether you also added this data into the database so we don’t count it twice. We also haven’t count applications where the user has had one or more reports frozen.

We look at data on the following cards only (alphabetical order):

We weren’t able to find data for the following cards:

  • The Ritz-Carlton Rewards®  Credit Card
  • IHG®  Rewards Club Select Visa®
  • Fairmont Visa Signature®  Credit Card
  • Amtrak Guest Rewards®  MasterCard®
  • Southwest Airlines® Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Card
  • Southwest Airlines® Rapid Rewards® Plus Business Card

  4. Lydi says:

Thanks for this info. Saved my $20 as I applied for Chase Southwest card. I live in Colorado and only had to unfreeze Experian which is what you had listed. Chase would not tell me which to unfreeze so I went with your information and it was right on.

  5. John says:

DataPoint: Chase Southwest Personal Premier in Michigan. Instantly approved. Pulled TransUnion.

  6. Gabe says:

I live in MD. chase marriott: equifax+experian. chase amazon: equifax+experian

  7. SJ0 says:

    Marriott – Illinois
You put “marriott” again as opposed to TU, EX, etc

  8. JW says:

Sapphire pulled EX + TU for WA State

  9. Nick says:

    CSP = EX + TU
    SW Premier = EX
    SW Plus = EX
    Marriott Personal = EX
    Freedom = EX

All of these are in NY

  10. Mike says:

    CSR pulled EX in NY

  11. FB says:

for the Freedom card in Rhode Island,
    they pulled Experian.
Same for AARP (why is it not on your list?)

    CSP TU

    IL

  14. mark says:

was denied ink+ because of 5/24 but they pulled TU only

  15. Ku says:

Where I live, Chase always pull EQ and at my parents’ address, Chase always pull EX. We live in California and are 100 miles apart. From my experience, it doesn’t matter what card you’re applying for, but your address that determines which credit bureau Chase pulls.

    Parents’ address…..

    Freedom – EX
    Freedom – EX
    Marriott – EX
    ————————————-

    My area…..

    Slate – EQ
    Hyatt – EQ
    Slate – EQ
    Ink Plus – EQ
    Sapphire Preferred – EQ
    Marriott Biz – EQ
    Hyatt – EQ
    IHG – EQ

    ————————————-

I recently applied for 2 cards and a credit line increase on the same day. I was approved for all 3 with just a single credit pull from EQ.

  16. Ken says:

Another for EX in CO for Chase in June.

In IN, Chase seems to always pull both EXP & TU. Did it for CSR, Ink+, RC, Hyatt, IHG, F, MPX, and MR. Seems to be consistent over the past few years.

  21. David says:

For both my wife and I, in KS

    CSP: EX + TU
    CSR: EX + TU
    Ink+: EX + TU

DP: Southeast VA, in May 2016

Chase Freedom Unlimited (already had Chase Freedom since 2010)

EX & EQ (not TU, like most of the lucky people)

  24. escot says:

Talk about lots micro data without analysis or interpretation, or even summary!? Or am I missing it somewhere? So you’re expecting readers to find the card they’re interested in, then scroll down to their home state, then see a handful of data points and draw inferences from that?

Appreciate the effort at data accumulation, but golly, how about some attempt to summarize and offer any notes on patterns seen….??? Or are we left to scan through scores of pages to do it for ourselves? Next time?

    • Beth says:

thanks for the effort and don’t worry about folks who cannot see any value in this compilation. I don’t find it hard to hit CtrlF and enter my state to see what info you have for each card but apparently others do….

DP-In my case in Ohio for the CSR – Chase pulled both EQ and EXP

    • There is also the combined chart, the actual card you apply for shouldn’t make any difference. Sorry you don’t find it helpful.

  25. Rich says:

Chase Sapphire Reserve in Colorado: EX

  26. Davin says:

    Hey DoC and Co.,

Texas here, only got pulled TU once. I applied for the CSR and Amazon Rewards using the 2BM and was instantly approved; the CSR through the Pre-Qualified offer page and the Amazon through Amazon.com directly.

What’s vexing is that it fell within the 2 year timeframe of my previously opened cards, see:

    http://imgur.com/GftiAy1

Any ideas why Chase would approve me even though I had been approved for 8 cards previously with other companies? Those previous 8 cards I had obtained were either instantly approved or through pending decision and subsequently approved.

Inquiries Last 2 Years -BEFORE- applying for CSR and Amazon Rewards.
    TU: 1 (Capital One)

    EQ: 3 (1. Capital One, 2. Commenity Bank/Buckle, 3. Discover Bank

Which is leading me to believe that maybe they only look at inquiries somehow instead of how many cards you’ve opened in the past if going by the 5/24 rule? I dunno at this point. Or am i looking at it too hard and missed something?
