Low Fee & No Fee ATMs

Most checking accounts with debit cards either have a large network of fee free ATMs or offer you a reimbursement for any ATM fees you are charged. That said there are some circumstances when knowing which ATMs are fee free for all customers is useful. This post contains a full list of low fee ATMs & no fee ATMs. This doesn’t include any fees charged by the financial institution you bank with, this only includes charges that the ATM owner/operator charge.

This information is also useful if you have a prepaid card such as the American Express for Target or American Express Campus edition card and want to unload your funds.

If you know of any others, please comment at the bottom of this article or send us a tip via our contact us page. Also try to let us know what the maximum is that can be withdrawn at a time.

  • View fee free ATM withdrawals in the Bay Area. This list was provided for EBT cards (e.g government assistance) and as such doesn’t include a fee free list for all card holders. It is useful as a starting point as a lot of those listed are fee free for everybody.

Possible Fee Free:

Universities often have arrangements with big banks (namely Bank of America) that give fee free ATM withdrawals on campus (no need to be a student). A lot of smaller credit unions, especially those with government affiliations will have fee free ATMs inside their branches that are available for all to use fee fee (no need to be a member). A lot of building also have deals with banks and allow them to have an ATM inside if they offer lower fees, occasionally these will also be $0.

Below is a list of places that might be fee free, but we haven’t received confirmation from any of our readers about these locations:

  • Aldi supermarkets, not sure if fee free or low fee.
  • Cardtronics ATM inside CVS locations.
  • Eastern Washington University PUB (building) in Cheney, Washington
  • RaceTrac: Possibly only TX locations only Store locator here, hit the magnifying glass in top right corner $300 limit

Thanks to FWF & FlyerTalk for providing some of these locations.

This is a really nice idea I was almost afraid to read until the end. I just didn’t want to see nothing but ancient listings and the occasional cricket…. I’m on the hunt in Portland OR and I will be sure to share whatever gold I find… Crossing fingers MacDonald’s 1.00 fee hasn’t been jacked up off this list. This is the kind of group effort the ‘Net was born to be (other than the Supra Ma Bell grapevine, of course!) My money is STILL in the bank but the game is AFOOT!

Capital One Cafe ATM (in Chicago) charges $3,50 nowadays, at least it wanted to with my non-Capital One bank card.

Cardtronics ATM in CVS charges $6 for non-Allpoint alliance card.

In the past i was used to saving money in my account

without using any ATM but not until i was in a very

difficult situation that almost took the life of my son,

going to the bank i was asked to follow alot of

procedures before i could get my money it was only GOD

that saved my only son on that particular day, after

that incident i told myself that getting an ATM CARD was

the best option, now i have mine and it has been a great

experience, i advice you get one for your self, this is

the company that helped me get one you can email them

For the Bellco CUs in Colorado, are the ATMs surcharge free at only the branches, or are they surcharge free for non-customers at all Bellco ATMs around the city? I’ve only been to the branches and it is fee free for non-customers.

Bellco does not charge ATM fee for non-account holders. Been going to them for a few years.

Thanks for providing this list, William. Very helpful. I have an Etrade bank ATM card, but am currently below the $5,000 minimum balance required for reimbursement of ATM fees. Thanks to your list, I’ll be hitting up my local NJ Quick Chek later today to avoid paying any additional fees whatsoever. Also, this is the first time I’ve stumbled upon this website. Will have to take a look around.

Update: Just writing to let everyone know that I went to the Quick Check (Belleville, NJ) today and can confirm that there was NO fee. I withdrew 100 bucks. It actually says “No Surcharge” in big letters right on the ATM. Thanks again for creating this list..
