Avoiding Fees
Blue Hill Bank offers a free checking account, the only requirement is that you must open it with at least $10. Their fee schedule says that there is an early account termination fee of $25 if the account is closed within 90 days.
Our Verdict
In the past they offered a $200 bonus (with no referral), although you were required to complete both requirements to get the full $200. This bonus is technically better if the person that refers you gives you their $100 as well (as then you only need to meet one requirement). If you’re not in this situation, I’d probably recommend just waiting until the $200 bonus comes back.
Because of this we haven’t added this bonus to our list of the best bank bonuses available, but it has been added to our complete listing of all bank account bonuses found here. Feel free to share your referral information in the comments below.
I can refer anyone interested.

I have an account already with them. I opened during the promotion $100/DD+$100/2bill pay. My bonus posted yesterday. If anyone wants an invitation form, feel free to email me.
Looks like you will have to go to the branch to open the account though. I did not see how does the “Completed Refer-A-Friend form must be presented at time of account opening” work without going to the branch.
Might need to give people your e-mail address, at the moment only I can see it.
Be careful, bonus are posted very slow.
I opened the account on Aug and bonus still not posted.
Customer service says it would be posted on Dec 31; that is 4 month after opening
I had contacted them also and got the same Dec 31st response, but my bonus actually ended up posting last week (finally).
Yeah, bonuses for this promo won’t post until March 31st. I guess they just do it one big batch.
