My partner ordered the Flex Perks AMEX for the specific reason of the charity deduction — as well as it serving as a funding source for SERVE — because of the charity deduction.

The reason for the choice of the FLEX PERKS over the big fat 5% is that the charity donation is capped at $2,000 per quarter and sometimes one would penetrate that limitation, therefore, the no cap on the FLEXPERKS would seem to fit the bill.
