  • By keeping $50,000 adding CD, home equity, and installment loan balances as of the end of your statement period

Early Account Termination Fee $15

If account is closed within 90 days a $15 fee is charged.

Our Verdict

Update: account now requires a direct deposit or a deposit requirement. Thankfully the deposit requirement also keeps the account fee free.

This is a pretty great bonus as there is no direct deposit requirement. The big question is do you go for the $100 or $350 bonus? The only difference is the requirements to keep the account fee free. $100 bonus will require $1,000 or 10 debit card transactions and $350 will required $10,000. It seems like you’ll need to keep the account open for 3-4 months before closing (bonus should post by 5/19/2017), if you go for the $350 bonus you’re basically getting an additional $250 for depositing an extra $9,000-$10,000 for 3-4 months (return of 2.5% during that period).

Or you could simply pay the $21.95 fee (usually this is waived for the first few months but not sure with Webster). If you had to pay it for 4 months you’d be paying $87.8 so even after taxes on the bonus you’d still be coming out well ahead when compared to the $100 bonus. Therefore I’d recommend everybody going for that bigger $350 bonus. Webster have offered similar bonuses in the past, but they have required opening in branch and just been restricted to MA. We’re going to add this bonus to our best checking sign up bonuses page because of how good a deal it is.

Big thanks to reader, David who let us know. Please consider sharing bank bonuses with this site so we can make it even better.

  1. Justin says:

Did this bonus last year. The fee was maybe waived the first month, but definitely not the second month.

To minimize fees if you plan on not depositing the 10k I would recommend opening the account in a couple weeks, and closing out right after 5/19. Maybe you could get away with only 2 monthly fees, and at worst 3.

Alternatively I guess you could try opening in last week of March, quickly completing transactions, and closing out on 5/20. You pay the $15 early term fee, but probably only get hit with 1 monthly fee. Net fees of $37. I wouldn’t try that route as its an easy way to get blacklisted, but could work for some.

  2. joe says:

I tried to do the bonus last year … the people at Webster were very nice, but “needed additional information”… they told me it was perfectly fine for me to open an account, but I had to go to an actual branch (despite the terms of the deal not actually saying anything about being in branch only). What makes you guys think that this particular offer is not going to be similarly restricted?

  3. Derek says:

Can it be stacked with referral bonus?

    • Sa says:

It did stack last year when i did it.

    • Matt says:

Anyone have a referral link? Looks like the extra bonus is a $50 Visa gift card, which helps offset a couple months of fees.

      • Saabfan says:

Send me your email address and first and last name. Saabfan@hotmail.com

        • Saabfan says:

I’m no longer giving referral links. The reason is that the people I have referred are not registering. This leads me to believe (and I hope I am wrong) they are trying to get my email address and name. I don’t know if anything could be done with this information, but I’m no longer taking any chances. You guys might want to consider this also. Cheers!!

          • Mike says:

I wonder if there is something wrong with your referral link.
Make sure your link is working so that people will get the bonus.

I posted my link further down and 1 person already signed up.

  4. David says:

Where do you see 2.5% return for the 3-4 months with the $350 account? On the interest page, I see only 0.01%

  5. Dave says:

Applied online. It asked a few Equifax questions,
all were the “none of the above” nonsense.

  6. s says:

I did this last year and let’s just say that Webster is not Chase/Citi. It takes time and patience dealing with them. On a good note their customer service is helpful, but I think that their processes and not automated. I am not sure I would do it again but on the other hand that’s quite an easy one on paper…decisions decisions

  7. Jonathan says:

I applied for this in branch last year, and the monthly fee was not waived even for the first month. I emailed the banker that I opened the account with and she were willing to manually credit the fee for the first month. Even if you open online, it’s probably worth calling Webster after a month and asking if they’ll credit you the fee.

Last year, the banker told me that the $350 bonus would stack with the referral bonus, but this didn’t end up happening in reality. I had to file a CFPB complaint because I didn’t get the $350 bonus or the referral bonus (and contacting Webster proved to not be helpful at all), and I got contacted by someone from the Office of the President. She indicated that the referral bonus is not eligible to be stacked with the $350 bonus, but she would make an exception for me due to the circumstances. I’m not sure if that still holds true, but I wouldn’t expect to receive both the $350 bonus and the $50 referral bonus.

  8. Andrew G. says:

For some reason the detail that $50 is required to be deposited in basic and $500 is required to be deposited in premier is only showing in the fine print:

“Receive $350 with Premier Checking. Minimum opening deposit of $500 is required”

“Receive $100 with Webster Value Checking. Minimum opening deposit of $50 is required”

Well I don’t know what timeframeI have to deposit this.. going to do it as fast as I can.

  9. Rhody says:

Could someone tell me if I’m crazy….$100 bonus for $1000 hold = 10% return, $350 bonus for 10,000 hold = 3.5% return. Wouldn’t the $100 bonus be a better option? Less money to hold with a larger return percentage? However, I may be reading this totally wrong!

    • The % return is better but keep in mind you can only do this once (and not 10 times) so they aren’t comparable in that fashion.

    • joe says:

Everyone’s personal situation is different. For me, the $350 is far better. Let’s assume you have $250K sitting in a 1.5% acct — say for example at MyMemory Bank. Let’s assume it takes 6 months to receive the bonus and close this Webster acct. I move ~$10K from memory bank into Webster, I lose out on $75 of interest, and instead get $350. I’m $275 ahead. On the other hand, if I move $1K into webster and get a $100 bonus, I lose $0.75 in interest, and come out $99.25 ahead.

  10. jcb says:

As the first comment suggests, why couldn’t we just close out right after receiving the bonus and pay the ETF? Are there real risks of being blacklisted? Just tell them you are moving?

  11. Grant says:

I opened my account over the phone a few days ago and tried to log in this morning and got an error msg that said my account is temporarily suspended. I called their CS number and was told that since there is no funds in the account, that my account is frozen. I had already set up my account with my external checking account and was going to verify the micro deposits and transfer in $500 to complete the minimum funding requirement. The CSR said that since I have no funds in the account, I wouldn’t be able to log in. So stupid, so I initiated a Chase Biz Checking direct deposit for $500 to my account. Hopefully that DD posts before my account is officially closed :/

I will keep you guys posted…

  12. shaky02dd says:

Denied for too many chex inquiries. Have opened about 8 bank accounts in the past 12 months.

Time to get my chex report…

  13. Pablo says:

So they are that sensitive to chex inquiries huh? I think I may have about 10 or soracked up during the past 12 months so I may just skip out on this one for now and come back (hopefully if they do it again) when I have not so many inquiries. Thanks for the heads up.

  14. Mr.Bean says:

They approved my account when I opened it online only for it to be closed soon after. Called and provided a reason for being denied; ‘multiple discrepancies’. I guess this is due to multiple Chex Enquiries. Looks like they are hyper sensitive!

  15. Johnny says:

Still waiting for the damn debit card. Transferred 10k over to avoid the fee. Anyone know if 10x amazon gift card reload should trigger the requirements?

    Thanks.

  16. Dave says:

Hey all – not sure what to say about your Chex inquiries, but I was approved for this
despite having opened all of this:

    2016
    12 checking
    4 saving
    2 brokerage
    1 prepaid

    2017
2 checking (3 checking after Webster)
    1 saving

As for credit cards, only a few in 2016

  17. Blake Johnson says:

My account was opened, and then a few days later they said I had to go into a branch with ID or they were closing my account.

  18. Jake N says:

Pretty seamless account opening procedure, getting the account #s right away is a nice change of pace from Wells.

Any DPs out there about them not charging the monthly fee for the first 1-2 months?

    • Jake N says:

I was able to open the account on 2/16/17, then today (2/22) I got a call from Ally (I had setup Webster as an ACH from them) saying that Webster was rejecting it because the account was frozen. I tried logging in to Webster, which said it was “temporarily suspended”. Gave them a call, they said the account was closed due to “derogatory remarks on the eFund report” (which is Chex), and I should call Chex to find out why. I called Chex, they said they can’t say why the account was closed, but would send me my report (I have about 20 checking accounts opened in the past year, thx DoC!).

Called Webster back and they said I’d need to call back during business hours to speak with the Retail Loss Management department to understand why it was closed. Stay tuned…

      • Sa says:

Jake, have you ever had an account with them before? For example, did you do this deal last year? Thanks

        • Jake N says:

I have not ever had an account with them.

They cited “too many inquiries in the last month and a half” as the reason. According to them I’ve had 5, which, including cards would be right.

  19. Dan says:

  20. Pete says:

I got an extra $50 by opening account with referral link I set up when I had done this offer. I didn’t think it would work at the time but it did.

I noticed there is a referral link congo going on for the First Tennessee offer over at: http://www.doctorofcredit.com/al-ar-ga-ky-ms-nc-tn-va-first-tennessee-200-checking-promotion/

Hence, I was hoping to start one here.

    Here is my link: http://bit.ly/2kRu6Vw

I would appreciate it if you can use mine, then post yours and so on and so on.
Note: it brings you to a different offer link that then brings you to Webster bank site.

Important: go to the checking and then the specific checking account you want to open. Important: make sure you use/enter the offer codes noted above to get the best offer. For $350 that would be JAN-MAR17PREMIER$350
I would hate for someone to get the lower offer because they used a referral code.
    Thanks

    • Daryl J says:

Thanks, I used yours. After clicking the link and entering my info I had to click ‘Open Account’, and then it took me to the website where I chose the appropriate Checking acct and entered the offer code. Btw, after all is set up where would I find my own referral link in my online acct?

    • Jake N says:

Hey Pete – thanks for all this info. Wanted to let you know I used your referral today for my gf’s account (mine got closed due to too many Chex). Hope it goes smoothly!

  21. DirtyLilRat says:

Strange how they don’t ask you to fund it during the application.

    • Dave says:

Also strange that they open the account then freeze it a couple times while
waiting for required signature card. Other banks prohibit online access
until all required docs are fulfilled.

  22. Joe says:

Just signed up and got approved.

Question: If I fund a $500 transfer from my other bank, will that count as the qualifying direct deposit? Or should I do the debit card swipes just to be safe.

Please use my referral link, and be sure to enter JAN-MAR17PREMIER$350 to get the $350 bonus.

    Thanks

  26. Mike says:

The following link stacks with the $100/$350 bonus and gets you another $25-$250 bonus (as a visa gift card).
Make sure to open the account first, and then fill out the form below:

    Additional requirements:
    (1) $25 visa card – same requirements as promotion (Direct Deposit OR 10 debit transactions OR 5 bill payments)
    (2) $75 visa card – same as (1), plus average monthly balance of $2,500 during the second full month that the account is open
    (3) $250 visa card – same as (1), plus average monthly balance of $10,000 during the second full month that the account is open

[referral link removed. Can anybody confirm it stacks?]

  27. Saabfan says:

Has anyone opened a personal and business? Is there a different referral link for the business account?

    • Saabfan says:

update. I was able to get the business ($300) and personal ($350) again this time. However, I got nothing on referlive. They are saying I opted for the above and cannot get both. Not sure I am ready to let that go just yet.

  28. Alex says:

Denied due to Chex systems :/

  29. Connor says:

Denied, only bank accounts opened were Wells Fargo and Santander a few weeks ago and an unpaid overdraft from 3 years ago in college

  30. mark says:

I have opened checking account looks like you can also get bonus for business account, what promotion code to use to get 350 bonus for business account? can someone respond right a way as there is only 2 days left to sign up

  31. Ted says:

Got temporarily suspended message when trying to log in as well. My reason was because I had set up external account and they need me to go into branch with ID and external account’s statement to verify I own the external account. Only online access is blocked, rest of account functions as usual. Good thing I had set up Webster as external account in other account already, the other way around. They said I can still push in money initiated from external account no problem. Also set up phone banking so I can verify account balance and such.

  32. VD says:

I tried to open online today. entered all details and got this message after credit questions verification.

“As an existing customer, we want to confirm some of your personal information.

Please choose an option below to help us quickly complete your application.

You can also visit your local branch to open your account.”

    Any idea?

  33. DirtyLilRat says:

Is there a min amount for the bill payments?

    • Dave says:

Haven’t seen it mentioned on their site. I make payments of at least $10
when the amount isn’t specified tho.

  34. Marco says:

It looks like this offer has been extended to 5/12/2017.

  35. Mike says:

    Extended until May-12-2017:

New promo code for the $350 Premier offer: MAR-MAY17PREMIER$350
New promo code for the $100 Value offer: MAR-MAY17VALUE$100

The following link stacks with the $100/$350 bonus and gets you another $25-$250 bonus (as a visa gift card).
This has been confirmed by another reader earlier in the thread.
Make sure to open the account first, and then fill out the form below:

    Additional requirements:
    (1) $25 visa card – same requirements as promotion (Direct Deposit OR 10 debit transactions OR 5 bill payments).
    (2) $75 visa card – same as (1), plus average monthly balance of $2,500 during the second full month that the account is open.
    (3) $250 visa card – same as (1), plus average monthly balance of $10,000 during the second full month that the account is open.

    • VD says:

I opened in 3/10 in branch and banker used Mar-May promo code. I already paid more than 5 bill payments.

Usually how long it will take Bonus to post to the account ? Bonus are triggered in batch once at end of promo period or differs with respect to account opened date? I read in some other blog that it took 6 months for bonus to post..Is it true?

Jan-Mar promo ended by 3/10, if banker could have used that code as it was the last day when i opened the account. Any sooner will i get bonus?

      • Mike says:

This bank is on the slower end of posting the bonus. The banker did the right thing by using the Mar-May promo code since that was the current code at the time. Maybe the previous code would have still worked, but not worth having to argue over if there is a problem. It’s better to let these things post automatically.

  36. Drew says:

I tried to open an account online. Got the success email and created an online account, also tried to fund it with $10k from Ally. But got stuck setting up the external account in Ally as the trial deposits kept getting stuck at Webster’s end. Called Webster and they said that my account was “dormant” and needed to be verified in branch first. Considering the closest branch to me was all the way in CT (I live in Manhattan) this offer’s a dud for me 🙁 My advice to others, make sure there’s a branch that’s within reasonable distance, in case they need you to come in.

  37. Will says:

Has anyone actually received this bonus yet? I met the conditions a month ago and nothing yet.

  38. Saabfan says:

    A word on Referral links:

I’m no longer giving referral links. The reason is that the people I have referred are not registering or have not registered. This leads me to believe (and I hope I am wrong) they are trying to get my email address and name. I don’t know if anything could be done with this information, but I’m no longer taking any chances. You guys might want to consider this also. Cheers!!

  39. Brian K says:

Under the current promotion extended until 5/12/17, I don’t see any language that says 10 debit card transactions or 5 bill pays will satisfy the requirements. I see “Customer must qualify for account and have a direct deposit of $500 or more (Direct Deposit transactions are limited to payroll, social security, pension, and government benefits. PayPal® transactions are excluded) between the month the account was opened and 09/29/2017, OR Customer must have an average account balance greater than or equal to $10,000 for Premier Checking or $1,000 for Webster Value Checking for the calendar month ending 09/30/2017. Qualifying transactions must be completed by 09/29/2017.”

Am I missing it, or is it possible the promotion requirements changed for this March-May one?

  40. Dan R says:

This appears to be a new offer than the one that just ended in march. There IS now a direct deposit required, but before there was no DD requirements. update the article!

    • I don’t see that direct deposit is required.

Customer must qualify for account and have a direct deposit of $500 or more (Direct Deposit transactions are limited to payroll, social security, pension, and government benefits. PayPal® transactions are excluded) between the month the account was opened and 09/29/2017, OR Customer must have an average account balance greater than or equal to $10,000 for Premier Checking or $1,000 for Webster Value Checking for the calendar month ending 09/30/2017

      Notice the OR in there.

      • Dan R says:

Ok, you’re technically right but I feel like most people don’t park 10k for 350 when it’s easier to throw 500 in there, take the month to fee and downgrade after the bonus. Technically you’re right but it’s easier to get 500 DD than 10k. I guess I was hoping you would add a caution or something.

  41. Jake N says:

Quick DP – had my gf open an account, and she was able to do it online, but then they emailed and said we couldn’t do any transfers until they verified her identity because the state of her mailing address (NY) didn’t match the state of her driver’s license (IL). They said we would have to go into the branch to verify in-person, so we closed instead.

  42. SamSimon says:

they close account after 4 days…. stating no near branches near me – I live in Brooklyn!

  43. Nancy says:

They also closed my account. A banker called me to tell me they do not service NY at my address. I’m in Manhattan. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with them opening the account too…

  44. Mike says:

Need a referral? Here you go: http://bit.ly/2nnvyVb

  45. Justin says:

Opened the acct March 2nd, first fee posted April 7th. Called in and they waived the fee after talking to supervisor. She’s wasn’t very happy but they did waive it. Should be able to close June 3rd with only 1 fee posting.

  46. Wile says:

I remember 10 debit transaction would qualify for bonus (DD not required), but now it seems DD is required. How do we keep track of their requirements? Do we need to save their promotion webpage when we applied in case they change their rule before you get the bonus?

    • Stam says:

I am on the same boat with Webster. Bad experience to get the bonus last time, same story again. My rookie mistake is that I didn’t take screenshots, should have learned my lesson last time.

Can anyone share screenshots with the 10 debit transaction requirements?

  47. Dave says:

    Screenshots for the Jan-Mar offer

    host image online

  48. joejamk says:

Can I ask that you not overwrite old info with the updated info? One should definitely save the page when they sign up but by updating instead of making a new post you make it very confusing to come back and check the old requirements. Or at least maintain a section with the requirements for the original post.

  49. RAB says:

was anyone successful in opening the account even if you dont live in the above mentioned states??

  50. Sean says:

I live in MA. Pain in the neck, but success in opening the account at last. After the online application not working right, I called in and redid it on the phone with a rep. Made sure to give the bonus code. Took about 20 min, and then the rep had me scan my DL and email it directly to her, which I did. Also wanted a paper check (with my name and address on it) as initial deposit, so I sent one in for 100.00. Was told all was set, but…
Online account access was frozen, so called in and was told by another rep that I had to bring my DL to a branch. Big pain, but they wouldn’t budge, so I drive the hour down. Next day, still frozen, so called again. Had a 25 minute call with yet another rep, who had to call the branch and get them to fax over the documents, which they hadn’t sent to the back office. Online banking now unfrozen, so I scheduled an ACH from Ally (made trial deposits last week after original opening).
Hopefully that’ll be it. I was thinking of keeping this account after the bonus period, but now, doubt it. Disorganized bank.
    Will post when bonus comes.

    • Dave says:

Welcome to Webster 🙂 After a few ordeals with my account being frozen
in the beginning, they haven’t messed with it since then.
I also plan to keep the account, as long as no more shenanigans occur.

  51. Victor says:

This is really bad.. I opened account on 3/10 and have to wait till October to get the bonus. For those who applied with old code also will get bonus only by October ?

They asked you to wait for seven months to get the bonus? That’s insane. That dilutes this to a $200 bonus instead of a $350.

      • Marco says:

The fine print says that the bonus will post by 10/19/2017. It won’t necessarily take that long, but I don’t like the sound of it. I think I’ll just pass on this one.

  52. Cindy says:

I’m hating this bank already – did two transfers and one payroll deposit – for the $10K min to defer monthly fee of $21.95 – I got hit with the fee even though I have had $10K in my account the entire time. I wrote CS to see what happened, I will report back.

  53. cindy says:

She would not do it – apparently, you get charged on an “average monthly balance” – I had the money in my account, but my average monthly was $9386 – seriously?

    • Tony says:

That’s 100% on you. EVERY bank calculates minimum requirements this way. This is why you need to transfer the funds in ASAP or transfer more than $10k to make sure the avg balance for the statement cycle is over $10k

    • Tony says:

Also the first statement cycle fee is waived so you have at least a month to transfer the funds in to hit the $10k

  54. Tim says:

Open the checking account last week. Thank you Doctor of credit.

  55. jcb says:

FYI was able to get first month fee waived no problem on the first call. I told them I was traveling for a month (true) and wasn’t able to move the appropriate funds around to meet the conditions to waive the fee.

However, really wish the bonus would post already. I opened March 5

  56. jcb says:

Did they change the promotions terms?! I opened March 6 and now it says account had to be opened after March 13…

I swear it didn’t say that before.

  57. Avi says:

I opened up the value checking account, I plan on working on the referral bonus. The 100/350 bonus is scheduled to post by Jan 2018, and there’s no way I am locking away $10k for that long. So went ahead with the value account.
As for Chex systems, I had 5 inquiries in two months, application went through without a problem.

  58. Johnny says:

For those that got in early, tomorrow is the pay date. Hope everyone gets what they came here for! I’m always skeptical but let’s see what happens.

  59. Bob says:

Wow Webster is on time! 1 day ahead of schedule actually, since 5/19 was promised 😉 I used the first code, JAN-MAR17PREMIER$350, expired first week of March

3/5 opened online (even though branch is 5 blocks from me lol)
3/8 funded with $500 cash in branch
3/27 completed 10 debit Amazon reloads
Apr/May monthly fee reversals given after request
5/18 $350 bonus posted as “CKG ACCT USAGE PAYMENT”

I cut it so close to the application deadline that I can close post-90 days and not get early termination fee! Definitely closing ASAP so I can churn next year. Thanks Doc!

    • Dan R says:

Consider downgrading the account instead of closing, as the bank woll hate you less and they wont stop giving out aogn up bonuses. Im planning on downgrading to a checking account that waives the fee for doing debit transactions.

      • Bob says:

Normally I would, but their other checking accounts still have nuisance requirements to keep fee-free…don’t feel like it

      • Dave says:

Although their downgrade options do suck, I’ll be doing it anyways.
It’s a good bank overall, and that “take the money and run” thing
        doesn’t sit well with me.

  60. Mike says:

    Opened 3/6 online
    Immediately did 5 bill pays
    $350 bonus posted today

  61. Eddy says:

Yeah Baby, sweet $350 bucks !! Very nice. Will leave open at least through early June to avoid early termination fee.

  62. chinagel says:

got the money, how do i close? sm possible?

  63. DirtyLilRat says:

Do they let you close it online after zeroing it out?

  64. Saabfan says:

I haven’t gotten paid yet. They are “investigating” and I should hear back today.

In the meantime, I also do not see that I earned the rewards by signing up through a referral.

The referlive people indicated that i “took another incentive” when I signed up for my account.

The implication is that these two cannot be stacked. But they stacked last year.

I asked what incentive I too. I will keep you posted on both points.

    • Victor says:

Any update on your bonus? Also could you tell me how to check referlive? Is there a login I need to signup?

      • Saabfan says:

https://www.referlive.com is how you check referlive.

Regarding payment, i finally go paid. The issue was that I couldn’t open the account online, so i called in. As far as the opening deposit which had to be $500 or more, i opted to transfer funds (the only other options was to mail a check or travel to a branch [too far for me]). So when went to link accounts to transfer funds they did test deposits. Webster initially denied me saying my opening deposit was not $500 or more. I told them that it’s not my fault they require test deposits. Lesson learned. I had to deal with corporate (not the branch) in order to get paid.

  65. Kevin says:

An actual $5 payroll direct deposit did not work to get the bonus automatically. When I first messaged Webster on Monday, they denied the bonus saying I didn’t have any payroll deposits, so I replied explaining that I had an actual payroll deposit, and they are now researching it.

All entries (including multiple $5 payroll direct deposits, and a $0.00 “ACH PRENOTE CREDIT ADP TX/FINCL SVC PAYROLL” transaction) are listed as “Other Credit.”

  66. DirtyLilRat says:

Has anyone closed this via online messaging?

  67. Victor says:

I’m still having issues with this bonus.. does anyone has Jan-Mar offer screenshot? Local banker does not agree that few others got bonus and he says bonus will be sent out only after 6 months.. original offer pamphlet has a wording that payout will be on 5/19.. I need to show that proof.. please share if you have the screen print.

  68. Eddy says:

It’s been posted already. Check previous post by Johnny on May 8th.

  69. Mark says:

how to check referral bonus, I had used a referral code. I received the account opening bonus.

    • Victor says:

Go to referlive.com.. if you remember login use those else Choose forget password and enter email used for webster registration to reset password..If you are eligible you may be seeing it under rewards earned tab i believe!

I have used someone’s referral link from DoC and maintanined 10K for second consective month but still not seeing anything in the referlive dashboard. 🙁

I have also not get the opening bonus yet 🙁

      • Victor says:

I checked with referlive today and they said webster already told them that i had already taken another incentive which is $350 so no referral bonus.. only one promotion and can not be stacked!

  70. Avi says:

    Hey Doc!
The offer is back again. 🙂

  71. Ned says:

Webster seems to be playing games and moving bad faith and I am likely to report these guys to consumer financial protection bureau. Opened account 3/24 and direct deposit of $3 on 4/7. Inquired on 5/21 about bonus due 5/19 and was informed 5/23, “Please be advised that we are researching this matter and will contact you via email as soon as we can.” Asked 10 days later when I would here and they say, ” Please be advised that the research and resolution may take several weeks. We will send you a message to your secure message center when we have any updates for you.” There is no way this takes weeks to assess.

    • Ned says:

correct, initial direct deposit of $3k : P

      • Victor says:

I think 5/19 bonus payoff date is for Jan-Mar promotion that was ended by 3/10. Did you use Mar-May code? If so payoff date for this promotion is somewhere in October. Worth to check the offers terms again. Good Luck!

I have opened mine on 3/10 and banker added Mar-May code in mistake after several follow up he confirmed me that code was changed in the backend to Jan-Mar code and should get my bonus in a week but still no luck 🙁

        • Ned says:

Thank you Victor for lending your advice. I had used the JAN-MAR17PREMIER$350 offer that required a deposit by 4/7/17 and that was the date of my initial deposit, a direct deposit of $3k. So I understand that it may take them a little time to determine if I qualify, but after almost two weeks they inform me that they need several weeks more, meaning month(s) at the end. I wonder if theiy are disingenuous and waiting to see if we endure several $22 monthly fees before deciding. Perhaps I downgrade my account and wait.

          • Victor says:

I agree. Their response time is pretty slow but account service charges are more.. For this poor account service do not know why they are charging more 🙂

  72. Victor says:

Looking for a referral? Here you go!

  73. Tim says:

Does anyone have a phone number for referlive? How do I check with them?

  74. DirtyLilRat says:

How have you guys been closing this account?

  75. Yoel Shimon says:

I successfully closed the account, and got the ast monthly fee refunded, via SM

  76. Eddy says:

Just closed my account via secure message on their website. Opened in early March so should not have any early termination fee problems.

  77. gabe says:

    Hi doc,

What about “This is an exclusive, non-transferable offer, available to the addressee of our direct mail or e-mail offer” do they enforce it?
