Avoiding Fees
$20 Monthly Fee
This account comes with a monthly fee of $20, this is waived if you have an average collected balance of $5,000 for the monthly statement period or $30,000 in Total Relationship balances.
Early Account Termination Fee
This account needs to be kept open for a minimum of six months, otherwise you will forfeit the bonus.
Our Verdict
This is a pretty good bonus (as is the $200 personal checking bonus they offer). You’d need to tie up $5,000 for six months to get the bonus and avoid the monthly fees, or you could just deposit $5,000 and withdraw it and pay the $20 monthly fee (you’d be paying around $120 in fees that way). This is definitely one of the best business checking bonuses currently available. The biggest downside to this bonus is that you need to open it in branch. I opened my account in Augest 2017, recieved the bonus quickly and downgraded so theres no monthly fee. Can someone confirm the bonus is forfeit if account closed within 6 months? Im looking to churn the hell out of this and want it closed ASAP so I can apply for another Huntington account.
Anyone been able to cancel over the phone? They are refusing and it’s a super big pain
If you downgrade the account within 60 days of receiving the bonus they will clawback the $500.
You’ll have to eat the 2 months of account fees before you can downgrade and there seems to be no way around it from my understanding.
Does anyone know any other options?
Where did you get this information? I successfully downgraded my account after about a month by emailing the banker who opened it.
When i tried calling the business line to get them to downgrade it, they are the ones who said to contact the banker.
DP
7/17 – Opened in Chicago branch. Didn’t ask me for my business name as a sole proprietor
7/20 – $5k ACH from Ally
7/26 – $500 bonus posted
Will try to downgrade this as well soon.
Also helpful to know Jake got both the personal and business bonuses for those who have asked.
Opened account on June 28, deposited funds on July 3, bonus posted on July 11. Called today to convert to Community Business Checking. Account converted without any problems.
I opened a business account the third week in June. The banker told me that my SS# wasn’t enough to open the account. I had to bring in a physical copy of my EIN paperwork. I did so and the bonus posted about 5 days after I finished putting the $5000 in the account. Love in Christ
what branch?

DPs:
– opened with no documentation in Chicago
– deposit $5k on 6/16, $500 bonus on 6/27
– got Huntington personal bonus within the last six months, so I can confirm that this bonus will post in spite of that
I am going to churn the HELL out of this one. Closing this as soon as possible and re-opening in 7-8 months.
Super easy money.
This website is the best.
Can anyone chime in on what, if any, documents they might require as proof of address? I’m assuming most of you who’ve got the bonus live in the applicable states (and therefore likely have state ID’s,) but has anyone with mere access to an address (a la a family member) in one of those states successfully opened an account and got the bonus? I’m visiting Chicago this week and wanted to try for this and the checking bonus if possible.
