The Offer
- Receive a sign up bonus of $100 when you open a new Clearview Federal Credit Union checking account at their new Delmont branch and complete the following requirements:
- Sign up for eStatements
- Set up a recurring direct deposit
The Fine Print
- Requirements must be completed within 60 days of account opening
- Electronic deposit is defined as a recurring direct deposit of a payroll, pension, Social Security or other regular monthly electronic deposit by an employer or other outside agency
- The membership and checking account must remain open for at least 90 days. The $100 bonus will be deposited to the new checking account after 90 days once the conditions are met
- Offer is only valid for new membership with a savings account and checking account. Members who are a primary or joint owner of an existing account at Clearview Federal Credit Union or at a Credit Union that is proposed or in the process of a merger with Clearview, is not eligible for this offer
- If the account is closed within six months once the conditions have been met, the $100.00 must be reimbursed to Clearview
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees or requirements. There is an early account termination fee of $10 if the account is closed within 90 days, you also need to keep the account open for six months or the bonus is forfeit.
Our Verdict
Not a great bonus considering you need to go into a branch and it requires a direct deposit, on the plus side there are no requirements to keep the account fee free.
