PNC Cash Rewards Visa Review – $200 Sign Up Bonus, 4% On Gas & 3% On Restaurants + Double Cashback [ AL, DC, DE. FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, VA, WI, WV]

(Update 9/21/23: PNC Cash Rewards Visa: $200 Sign Up Bonus + Double Cashback First Year [Select States])

The PNC Cash Rewards Visa Credit Card is now accepting applications. Here are some basic details:

  • No annual fee
  • Sign up bonus of $100 after $1,000 in purchases
  • Card earns at the following rates ($8,000 annual cap on the 2%/3%/4% categories):
    • 4% cash back on gas purchases
    • 3% cash back on dining purchases
    • 2% cash back on grocery purchases
    • 1% cash back on all other purchases
  • 0% Introductory APR for the first 12 billing cycles
  • You can redeem for cash back when you have $25 or more in your account
  • Applications restricted to the following states:  AL, DC, DE. FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, VA, WI, WV

Not a terribly exciting card given that you can earn up to 5% cash back on gas purchases, up to 3x points on restaurants, up to 6% on grocery store purchases and up to 3% back on all purchases with other credit cards. Sign up bonus makes it a bit more attractive but still not tempting. PNC does have a history of terrible credit cards. But they have been improving recently (and on business cards) this is another step in the right direction.

Received a mailer offer from PNC bank for their Cash Rewards Visa Signature Business credit card with no AF. $400 bonus after 3000 purchase and earn 1.5% cashback on everything. Does anyone know if this account will report to my bureau (affect 524)? Or it’s just like Amex Business Card

Received what looks like targeted email offer “Earn a $150 bonus with the PNC Cash Rewards Visa credit card”. I do have PNC checking associated with the same email, but the P2 and P3 that are also associated with their checking, did not receive the email so far. Term: $150 bonus after $1000 spend in first 3 billing cycles. Same bonus categories, but I did notice the intro APR offered on the email is for first 15 billing cycles. Offer expires on 6/15/21

I completed this today. I’m used to CC bonuses adding the reward as points and giving an option to credit the card statement, deposit to a checking account, or mail a check, but this bonus posted a credit to my statement without offering any choice.

Not really a problem but different from what I’ve experienced before. The statement credit was issued immediately when my statement dropped (not when the spend threshold was met) which isn’t uncommon, but what was also odd was PNC backdated the credit to the beginning of the statement so I had to dig back through my transactions to find the credit date.

I met the spend requirement on 11/19, my statement cut on 12/12, but the credit was backdated to 11/13.

This has been a nice card to keep in my wallet since it bonuses on gas, groceries (including Walmart), AND restaurants.

Anyone know if this card will give 3% cash back at Wal-Mart (in-store, not gas) as grocery? I don’t most cards don’t but my BoA one does, so wondering if this might too.

Whoops — I meant to say 2% not 3%. I tested this week and it gives 2% at Walmart (the grocery amount) rather than 1% (the “everything else” amount). Not a big DP but just in case anyone else was wondering.

I live in Arizona (not one of the above mentioned states). I received a letter in the mail saying I was pre-selected for this card. I applied and was approved. I have a PNC account so I was able to login and have my info pre-filled in for me. I received instant approval at the end of the application process.

approved for this card while not living in one of the mentioned states. i have pnc checking and savings so i was able to login during the app process and have my information pre-filled. so maybe if you are applying with no prior relationship it restricts states, but not if you can get the application to autofill
