Raise.com Lowers Portal CashBack from $1.50 to $.50

Raise.com used to offer $1.50 for each gift card sold on their site by going through the Topcashback portal. They’ve now lowered that down to $.50 per listing.

Yazing still shows $1.50 per listing, but most likely it’ll be updated soon since I assume there has been a change from Raise’s end.

Bummer. I used to list lots of gift cards and get the portal cashback on it. Not sure how much I’ll use it going forward.

Note that despite the terms, cash back in is usually earned on gift cards listings on $20 and up, even listings of more than $50. Also note, this change only affects those selling gift cards on Raise. The portal for buyers remains the same – more details on that here.

We’ll update The Complete Guide to Selling your Unwanted Gift Cards for Cash to reflect the change.

I feel like I was doing something wrong with this. I’d get credit for the first listed card but none of the others after the first would track. I always closed out the raise screen and started again from the portal. I tried to wait a few minutes in between cards too but still, only the first one listed would track. Any recommendations?

To put this in perspective, Raise also just cut their commission from 15 to 12. Give with hand, take with the other.

What a tragedy… I was counting on that $1.50 to boost the returns on selling gift cards.

Well if it’s a $20 gift card an extra $1 makes a huge difference in your profitability. Basically an extra 5%.
