Remember also that there’s 4x eBay Bucks for some (not me, boo) on items which are $50 or more and that could make some of these deals much better. (We noted that the 4x Bucks doesn’t fit with the typical schedule of eBay Bucks in our post on Timing eBay Purchases. However, as we noted in the original post, eBay does often release the offers based on Holiday schedules; in this case it’s probably due to July 4th.)
If only Ebates and eBay could get together and time their bonus offers to coincide…
If the card limits are per user, does that mean per EBAY ID as a user, or a person as a user?
In other words, if I have 2 ebay accounts, can I use each one as a User or am I the user, meaning I am limited to the 3 (for example) cards on the Phillips 66?
The system will allow it, but eBay aggressively shuts down those who do so.
Do those card limits (2 hyatt cards for example), apply per transaction or per user? could i buy 2 cards at a time, but do it 3 times?
Per user.
I am targeted to recent offer but I have already purchased all the possible Money maker or break even gift cards last week when I had same promotion.
My wife’s Ebay account is also targeted but 4 months back Ebay sent warning notice to me and my wife’s emails for using “duplicate” accounts for “limited deals”. Since then I never purchased from her account.
I am curious, does Ebay use IP address or the mailing address to identify this “Duplicate” account issues? If IP address only, I can use different IP address for my wife’s account.
Please enlighten.
For some reason I had always assumed it’s mailing address, but I guess IP is a possibility.
You should be able to do e-gc deals by registering one of the ebay accounts to a different address maybe? Just a thought.
I had the same thing happen a couple of months ago…it’s the IP address that is triggering it. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with ebay before realizing that was the reason. I have had no problems since. Usually now I do one from my computer and one from my phone.
Thank You Chuck and Charlie. I have pulled the trigger with Charlie’s method, I will bring data points if I get any warning.
Interesting stuff.
So I guess people who use the Internet at the public library are out of luck. Maybe it’s both the IP address and the home address. That would make more sense.
Hey Will,
Ebates has 6% CB on Sears purchases today only. I’m thinking of double dipping first through GC, then purchase and pay with CG. If I go through this portal and then sign in to my Sears Shop Your Way account (for extra Sears points), will this negate the portal cash back?
Thanks!
Walt
p.s Will paying for the GC with Discover double cash back work for triple dip?
“$100 TGI Friday physical gift card for $40. Limit 5.”
You mean $50 TGIF cards. Man would that be a deal.
Thanks, fixed that and one other small mistake.
