The Offer
- Orbitz is offering an instant discount of $150 when you book a three night or more flight and hotel trip and use a Mastercard to pay and enter the following promotional code: MASTERCARD150. The $150 discount applies to only the hotel portion of your trip, excluding taxes and other fees
Promo Code
You enter the promo code on the final payment screen (after entering name). It doesn’t actually divide the flight and hotel into separate categories, so as long as your total is above $150 I guess it’ll work?
Update: I found a cheap combination (~$170) and the discount it gave me was only $137.16 (the flight definitely wasn’t only $33 return, I assume that was taxes and fees?).
The Fine Print
- Book by August 30, 2016, (11:59PM CT) or while supplies last
- For travel between August 19, 2016, and March 30, 2017.
- Qualifying bookings instantly receive $150 off the hotel portion of your booking at check-out through the use of the promotion code.
- Limit one discount per package, one promotion code per itinerary, one redemption per customer.
- The promotion code cannot be redeemed against taxes, supplier fees, cancellation or change fees/penalties, administrative fees or other miscellaneous charges, which are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Our Verdict
None of the shopping portals have this promo code available from what I saw (correct me if wrong), but you might as well try going through one anyway. Best value will obviously be when the total is as close to $150 as possible (you can sort by price). You won’t earn any hotel stay credits or points for these stays, but you should still earn airline miles (should also work for the JetBlue Virgin America match if you haven’t already done that).
I doubt this will last until August 30th, so if you’re interested I’d book sooner rather than later. No idea if you actually need to check into your hotel either.
Hat tip to Frequent Miler
Is it August 30th already? Or another company that doesn’t know how to handle a promo?
It said while supplies last. I said it would run out quickly and it did.
