The Fine Print

  • Limit of one
  • Valid from January 22nd until 28th

Our Verdict

This is the best of the gift card rebate offers as it’s for $20 and you can purchase Visa gift cards (and the rebate is a Visa) making it much easier to unload. Make sure you use a credit card that earns at a high rate on office supply store purchases.

I thought I had used these at USPS before, but just tried and no dice. If they won’t work at the post office, would they maybe work at Wal-Mart?

Yes – these work at WalMart with no issues.

But does the rebate receipt print automatically or do I have to let the cashier know in advance to print me one. Thanks

It’ll print automatically after you swipe your credit card and hit “print receipt”.

I bought four of these $200 cards at Staples with my Ink Plus card today, broken into two transactions of $400 each.

Filled out one rebate form in my name at my home address, the other in my wife’s name at her PO Box. Since the names, addresses, emails and phone numbers are all different I don’t see why I wouldn’t get both rebates, but I’ll update if something goes wrong.

Dropped by Walmart on the way home, converted these to a money order and will deposit in my bank tomorrow.

Paid $28.60 in total fees, will get $40 in rebates and a bit over $40 minimum from Ink Plus ($60 if I use for travel), so a little over $50 net.

Not sure I’d go out of my way to do this deal, but if you’re close to the store anyway then why not pick up some burger money for a few minutes of work?

Can you tell me how the rebate works, I haven’t done this before. I see I need to get a rebate ID, do I have to ask the cashier for a rebate form, or does it print automatically?

The rebate ID prints at the very bottom of the rebate receipt you get when you buy the gift cards.

Go to stapleseasyrebates. com, put in the rebate ID and your mailing info. Click enter. Wait for your $20 gift card to show up in the mail. Easy!

I think they’re issued by MetaBank, so most likely not.

can you use the same credit card twice if you have two separate addresses and two people? trying to meet a minimum spend requirement on a card

There should be no problem with that.

did 3 transactions for 200×2. I gave them my phone number by accident so I think all 3 purchases got linked to my staples rewards account (so stupid). any idea if that matters?

i advise against doing this. it’s it’s the same name and same/neighboring zip code it will likely get caught as well.
not worth the risk.

I do it. One at home, One at work address and one at wife’s work address. Has worked in the past. There can be multiple people with the same name, as long as address is different. I use different credit cards to purchase, just to be safe.

Most folks who like office supply Visa/Mastercard gift cards:
1. have Chase Ink Plus Visa offering 5x Ultimate Rewards at office supply stores
2. are meeting minimum spend for credit card sign up bonuses
With this deal you are buying Visa gift cards below their face value. Is it worth it to you?

Noob question here:

My girlfriend is trying to find a way to pay a $1500 deposit for graduate school with a credit card, but the school only takes check or money orders. Can she use multiple Visa gift cards to buy that money order? Post Office the best place to buy it? Thanks!

Walmart is the cheapest place to buy the money order, $0.70 for a maximum of 4 gift cards for a $1000 money order,

very simple offer… buy 2 200 cards. Can use 3 addresses as long as different. I use mine and 2 sons. (3 different emails also, you have to keep track) I Buy 2 200 cards and 2 200 cards with 2 different Ink cards at same Staples. I walk to these stores as I work near grand central in NYC. I then walk to another Staples in the area and use a Amex simply biz. for 2 more cards. The points add up quickly and the 3 20.00 VGC come via US mail about 5 weeks later. Been doing this for 3 years and flawless. I do it when they have the MCard offers also.

You can buy all at the same staples as long as they are different transactions. I bought 6 cards in 3 transactions at the same store, same time.

You don’t have to use different credit cards and you don’t have to go to different stores. It just has to be separate transactions.
