Help Support & Grow This Site

People often ask how they can help support this site, I won’t make a habit of making these posts but I thought one wouldn’t hurt. If this post isn’t your thing, then please skip over it. For those that do want to help there are two main ways you can:

Shop Through Our Amazon & eBay Links

We’re affiliates to both Amazon & eBay, this means that if you click on one of our Amazon or eBay links and make a purchase we will receive a small commission from them. If you’d like to say thank you for the content found on this site, using our links to make a purchase is a great way to do this. You can click either of the banners below to use our links, I’ll also be adding these to the sidebar so people can quickly grab them if they so chose.

ebay shop now

Keep in mind that if you do use our links, you won’t be able to earn cash back/miles/points from shopping portals. In the interests of our readers, you can find out what shopping portal is offering the best rates on eBay here & Amazon here. I basically see using our links as a way to give us a tip on the site, if you find something helpful then feel free to use them to say thank you. The money we earn from these sources is evenly split by myself and Chuck.

Share & Contribute To The Site

The majority of the new deals and information we post on this site comes directly from our readers. In fact, the majority comes from a small subset of readers that send in information and deals on a regular basis. The more people that do this, the better the site will be. So if you see a deal/piece of news that we haven’t covered yet that you think we’d find useful/interesting then please let us know. You can let us know by doing any of the following:

I promise we don’t bite. Everybody benefits when information is shared, so I really encourage you to share deals and details with us whenever you come across something interesting.

The other thing you can do is share the site, you can do that on social media (e.g Twitter or Facebook), or on forums/other sites (when relevant and useful) or just by telling people in person.

Final Thoughts

I don’t think a lot of people really realize how many hours myself and Chuck put into this site each week. I really do enjoy most of it, especially when I hear from readers with positive stories of trips they’ve taken or extra zeros in their bank accounts because of this site. That being said, it’s still always nice when somebody uses one of our links and even nicer when readers decide to share information and deals with us to help grow the site. Now back to your regular scheduled programming.

Great.
This is the information I needed, but I’m too self-conscious asking newbie questions. 🙂

Is this something that can also work with smile.amazon.com? Or is it only possible to do either a charity link or affiliate link, but not both?

Really happy to have found this site a few months ago. It quickly became something I check multiple times per day- was just the type of place I needed to help navigate the confusing world of credit card churning. Between bank accounts bonuses & a few other deals, I’ve benefited quite a bit so I’ve definitely felt an desire to give back in some way- will make sure to start using your Amazon link.

Keep up the good work and thanks for doing this site the right way.

I think the difference is Amazon,eBay, etc doesn’t try to force any input, etc into the content of the blog – the CC companies are notorious for that as well often requiring quotas, etc,etc

I’ve been in this game for about 7 years now and this is by far my favorite site!

I’m going to play the devil’s advocate here. Like most, I hate the bloggers who PUMP PUMP PUMP their credit card links to the point their blogs are basically just ads for the banks. But how is what you’re asking for (Amazon/Ebay links, donations) different than having credit card affiliate links? I’m not comparing this to TPG or FTG; I’m just asking why not just have an occasional affiliate link if the blog needs help with funding (which is completely understandable)?

Oh shoot, asked my question as a reply instead of top-level.

With regards to the point you brought up, credit card affiliate links are sometimes not as good as a public offer, and some bloggers don’t disclose that to the reader. These Amazon/Paypal affiliate links are up to people to use, fully understanding that they replace portals since DoC said that in full disclosure. So I think this is definitely more fair and on the up-and-up.
