[Targeted] American Express Business Platinum 75,000 Point Bonus – No Once Per Lifetime Language

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Receive 75,000 membership rewards points after $5,000 in spend within the first 3 months. This application does not have the language that says you’re eligible to only receive the sign up bonus once per lifetime, so you should be able to get this again if you’ve held it before.
  • If you log in and it says “our systems are down” it means you’re not targeted

Our Verdict

The current bonus on this card is 100,000 points but there are two reasons to consider this 75,000 point offer:

  • It has a much lower minimum spend requirement of $5,000 vs $15,000 total for the 100k point offer
  • This bonus does not include the language that you can only get this bonus if you’ve never gotten the bonus on the card before.

Let me know if you’re targeted or not in the comments. There is also a similar offer on the American Express Business Gold card that also doesn’t have the restrictive language. As always read these things you should know about American Express cards before applying.

Big thanks to reader Abey for the link.

Since it is once per lifetime bonus,. i have a question.

In my Amex online account i see offer under my Amex Business Gold rewards card to upgrade to Business platinum card with not credit inquiry/hard pull for 50k bonus after 5k spend.

If i opt for that, would that be considered as my one chance to apply for this card or i can do a separate application i future for a better offer (and this upgrade offer will not count as my ‘once per lifetime’ application’?

Can someone specify?

The terms state that you cannot have had that product ever in the past. So it doesn’t matter how you get the card, if you have ever had it in the past you cannot get the bonus again.

Can you MS (buying GC > converting to MO) with this card?

AMEX is notorious to freeze or shutdown your MR account if you MS to meet min spending so unless you are sure you have some real big spend to meet min spend (e.g. paying medical bills, paying airfare tickets for relatives, etc), don’t apply for the card , better be safe than sorry in long run.

In early December I had an offer to upgrade to Business Platinum card with the 75,000 bonus points after $5k spending when logged in and poking around the Amex website on my Business Rewards Gold card. I started the application and saved it for later but that expired 12/28 and now I can’t find the offer anymore. I’m hoping it comes back as I have an arsenal of MR points I want to redeem with the Business Plat.

Unfortunately, neither my wife nor I were targeted for the 75K offer.

I’ve been considering the current 100K offer, but for me it’s really only 50K due to the high spend requirements.

Is the standard offer usually 40K points with $5K in spending?

Do you happen to know how often 75K offers come along?

Got the offer – but right now I’m working on two other minimum spends. Oh hell I miss Redbird.

I haven’t had the business one yet. Should I do this or wait for the 100k offer? Will the lack of once per lifetime language mean that if I close this card I can open another business at some point easily? Guessing if the next one doesn’t say once per lifetime the answer is no…

It’s funny, I got targeted for BOTH of these just 2 months after closing both of them. And, I closed them both just a year after opening them. I have a hard time believing I’d get targeted so soon after closing them, and that I’d get the bonus on both… does the lack of those words FOR SURE mean AMEX will pay the bonus, and that we have a claim if they don’t? Seems tenuous.

It says Our Systems Are Down when I open the link normally, but the app link pulls up perfectly fine in incognito.

It’s targeted. If you get that error then you can’t app for it.

I think the DL lounge access only works if you have a DL departing flight that day.
