Our Verdict

If you’re using a referral link then you’ll want to spend $115 ($100+ after the discount). In the end you’ll pay $65 for $115 in products or a total savings of $50. Deal isn’t quite as good if it isn’t your first order, they have offered $15 off $50 in the past as well (and that had a Twitter hashtag). Let me know your thoughts on boxed in the comments below as well.

William/Chuck, mind checking my plan and math? if you have two new Boxed accounts, you could do two orders of $65 (with $15 first-order discount) and end up getting $130 worth of stuff for $65, right? Any holes in my plan, or any additional deals/hacks to stack?

Boxed has some interesting items available. Forever Postage Stamps at just under face value; Movies.com GCs at about $92 for $100 in GCs. Stack these with the $35 back for some good deals.

Paper goods and cleaning supplies also are often good values. I’ve been happy with Boxed’s store brand (“Prince and Spring”) and they will provide a store credit if you try a Prince and Spring item and don’t like it.

I dunno, this is not that good of an offer. Last summer when they had the $20 off $50 deal – now that was a hoot, something to get excited about. It also wasnt as targeted, everyone & their mom got that one. The key was on how to best use it. Boxed def saw a lot of orders from me 😏

Why use referral if there is 15% Off + FREE Shipping with code BOXED for first time user. I assume one cannot combine these two. So IMO the best deal (or at least the same) is to use the code BOXED with Amex, no?

For those using Samsung Pay; there is a $10 credit for just 10 points. It was stackable last time as Amex credit is applied after the payment is made.

Got on 2 business cards but 0 personal – not that anyone is missing much. The vast majority of items were more expensive than anywhere else I checked – instead of saving about 50% I probably only saved 15-20%
