Our Verdict
It’s possible to get this card with the annual fee waived, that means you’re actually paying $450 for 75,000 miles or a cost of 0.6¢ per mile. Not a terrible deal, but still not fantastic considering it has been possible to get the 75k miles + 5k miles on the personal explorer card. Keep in mind that this card subject to Chase 5/24 rule.
If you have any questions about this card, I’d recommend to read through these things you should know about Chase first. There are also current increased bonuses on the explorer business & personal cards.

i received targeted paper mail with brochure and a link to apply. the mailer contained brochures for 75,000 bonus mile if spend $3k in 3 months (unless youve had a united club or chase card offer in last 24 months, which i have not) but also that the first year $450 fee was waived. im almost certain it said both – i no longer have the mailer.
but once i applied, to the link mpclubcard.com/75k using my mileage plus number, they only wiaved the $450 1st year card fee, and did NOT associate any mileage bonsu with my account. i never would have applied. chase will not budge. the URL link itself even had the 75k in it, and they wont give me bonus mileage. is this a bait and switch??? i thought that was fraudulent? can they do that? now im on the hook, and if i close the card my credit will get dinged…albeit temporarily, but still! any thoughts on what i should do?
I still have the mailer and it definitely makes it seem like you get the fee waived for the first year and 75k miles after the 3,000 purchases
It’s worth mentioning that a key benefit of this card is that you get most of the convenience benefits (“Premier Access”) of United Silver status without actually having to fly/spend to get it — expedited checkin/security/boarding/baggage.
The card also waives the within-21-days $75 award booking fee, though there’s a trick for avoiding that anyway (google for it), and provides some kind of status at Hyatt and Hertz.
Pretty much the only important thing you don’t get compared with Silver are Economy Plus upgrades, and two extra award miles earned for flying on a paid ticket.
I break this all down here: ivanx.nyc/status-seeker/
Even though I got flyer at home with this offer in my name, when I login, I see offer with no miles and $450 fee waived. Confusing!
Hrm, I’d just wait and it should load in at some stage.
Just checked and my wife is showing no annual fee but no bonus points as well.
She was just approved for the card last month – is she able to request to match the annual fee via SM?
Also can she request to match the 75k miles even though she is not targeted for it?
Chase tends to match the better offer (75k) if found within 90 days of application date
Most likely chase would let you have the 75k offer plus the annual fee if you ask by SM. I doubt they would let one have the 75k without paying the annual fee.
Need a volunteer to try this and report back 🙂
Some risk involved and possibly YMMV
If the AF is different they don’t like to match from my experience.
“Keep in mind that this card is subject to Chase 5/24 rule (although the actual card shouldn’t count towards your tally).”
I imagine this only applies to the business version of this card. I would expect the personal version of this card to count towards 5/24 like usual.
Also, my targeted offer from the direct link is the usual annual fee waived the first year, not the 75,000.
Sorry, should have made this clearer.
