There has been a lot of chatter about the 100K Citi Executive AAdvantage World Elite MasterCard offer being dead (You can still get this offer, I’d recommend looking at this FlyerTalk thread for the latest information). In the midst of this an extremely similar offer has been available, for some reason it’s not getting as nearly as much attention as it should be.

Our Verdict
This is the highest I’ve ever seen this offer, it does take a bit more effort to receive the offer (calling up) but it’s well worth it in my opinion. I like the flexibility of Membership Rewards (MR) points, they have a whole bunch of different airline and hotel transfer partners that mostly transfer at a rate of 1:1.
The main downside is the annual fee of $450, you do get $200 of this reimbursed with the Airline Fee Credit (purchasing gift cards for resale should work). For those who travel gold status with SPG is quite a nice benefit as well. This card is not worth keeping after the first year due to it’s poor earn rate and high annual fee. You can keep your MR points active by opening any other card that earns MR points (AmEx EveryDay is a no annual fee card) or you can just transfer them.
I called up recently for my girlfriend to see if this method still works and it does. It’s important to note that you can’t have gotten this card or any other American Express OPEN business card within the last 12 months, otherwise you will not be able to get this bonus. You can also enroll this card into AmEx OPEN savings to get discounts on select products & services.
Should we not have applied for ANY Amex OPEN Business card (or) is it not applied for AMEX Plat in the last 12 months ?
You should be able to confirm this when you call. They told my GF it was ANY, but not sure if it was an unknowledgeable rep or not. On the normal application it just says this specific card.
