Stacking the Deal for up to $63 Profit

Both of these deals are good on their own, but even better with the recent Amex Offer of $20 off $75 at Shoprite. As noted in the original post, the terms require that some product be purchased along with the gift card to be eligible for the Amex offer; in practice, it’s worked even with gift cards alone.

If you buy a $500 Visa gift card for $505.95, you’ll end up paying just $485.95 after the Amex offer kicks in, and you’ll net another $20 or $15 Shoprite coupon with the above deals. You’ll also get $486 in credit card points which should be worth at least $4.86 or up to $29 with the 6% Blue Cash Preferred. Assuming you can liquidate the Visa gift card fee-free, it can be a profit of up to $63 ($20 coupon + $14 Offer + $29 points)!

If you don’t want to go so high, just buy $100 gift card to your favorite restaurant/gas/retailer or buy $100 Visa gift card and eat the $5 activation fee. Still a good deal!

Remember to use the $20 voucher when you go in to take part in the $15 offer. You won’t be able to use it on gift card purchases, but it’s just an added convenience that we’ll only need to make 3 Shoprite trips total, not 4.

My ShopRite AMEX offer was visible one day, but I did not save it, as I wanted to see if it would show up on my other 5 cards. Then, I did not go back to look for it for a few days, and the offer disappeared!

Anybody know why?

Amex and/or the Vendors cap the offers at a certain quantity to control costs — so once the max number of “acceptances” are reached, the offer is removed from your online account if it hasn’t been accepted. The rule of thumb is to accept offers as soon as possible so you aren’t left hanging. It is the same thing with Twitter Amex offers. Some of those are capped at only 5,000 and can be wiped out in a few hours once the hash tag is publicized.

FYI- My local shoprite won’t let me purchase gift cards with a credit card. Anybody else in Philly have that issue?

Hi, which store in Philly are you referring to? Generally the rougher the area, the less likely they will take CC.

Will these offers also work at Price Rite as long as I have PricePlus card? Thanks
